 Strange Monster
I found this screen image today. Does anyone know what this is from? I can totally see Martin Ontiveros doing something like this.

 Re: Strange Monster
I don't have a definite title or anything, but it appears to me to be from an old film (I'm guessing probably 20's or earlier), most likely a Russian, German, or possibly Scandinavian fairy tale film.
Where did you find the image? That might help in the search.

 Re: Strange Monster
It looks kind of like something Georges Melies would have done. Not sure if it's actually his, though.

I forgot the name but its from a silent film. They would show a clip of that scene back in the day whenever they showed monster film docs.

 Re: Strange Monster
Future_Man where are you finding these photos? Various places or any one in particular?
I remembered the Méliès giant abominable snowman thing from a movie monster book I had when I was a kid. I don't think I've seen the She Creature before, but the movie posters are awesome.
Cool thread. Anyone have any more unidentified monsters?

Dean wrote: Future_Man where are you finding these photos? Various places or any one in particular? Nope, no one place in partic. I get lots of photos sent to me from people who either think they are 'funny' (as fodder for my blog) or 'strange' (as I am).

the She Creature made an appearance way back in the early 80's here, by the awesome artist Thomas Scott.....

Future_Man wrote: What is the creature in the upper right corner? Seems to be a variation of the Mitsume Kozo or Three-Eyed Priest, but is much older than those usually depicted. If I could see larger text, or the page you retrieved the image from, I could identify it better.

 Re: Strange Monster
The Venusian Cucumber from IT CONQUERED THE WORLD (which was later remade as ZONTAR: THING FROM VENUS) was nicknamed "Beulah" by its creator, monster maker Paul Blaisdell, who made a lot of monsters for AIP, including the aforementioned She Creature. Blaisdell also played most of his monsters as well!
