Re: sometimes new threads are GOOD...
Logang, didn't you recently go to Shinto where you told Mori you prefer more free spray and less masked work? Here's another recent quote from you: Quote: I'm an armor fan myself, and wish that Mori would bestow the armor on more characters as he's done in some unpainted figures in his collection....even another armored Chaosman or two! But an armored Evil or Head would rule. How is that not "telling the man how to run his business"? Seriously, dude, you're not the keeper of the flame. Off the soap box wichoo!

What would be nice is if, after the surprise Shinto sales, Mori could throw a pic up on his site so we know something was released, even if it's already sold out. That way collectors know something's out there to be hunted, and we don't need to worry whether something that just popped up on YJA may be fake, dodgy, etc. Eh? So yeah I dig these small mystery runs - very Ekoda style. But it must be harsh for RxH fans in Tokyo who have to head all the way out to Aoto every day, just in case. Besides the new shinto release style, I hope Mori makes some show appearances this year. It would also be cool if RxH set up a fan club with a point card system and started selling directly to overseas fans. Buy a certain number of toys and get a free limited release figure. Maybe also allow the most diehard supporters a shot at some super limited stuff once in a while, so they can get it at retail instead of paying through the nose on YJA. Seems a good way to reward the overseas collectors who have been the bedrock of the RxH support base. Just a few ideas to add to the pot. I really agree with the pictures to of the sold out rare figures. I passed up a few figures because I had no clue about them.

I haven't joined any club that is worthy enough for me as a collector. RxH would be the only one I would join in a heartbeat. logang wrote: What would be cool is if people just dug the releases, or passed on them and let the man run his business however he feels like it. Saying what you like and don't like about the toys, and how they're finished....go nuts. You worship Naoki-san, GREAT. The guy is a fucking genius with an airbrush, with endless artistic dedication while holding down a day job.....I remain in AWE. Seriously...tugging at the very heart strings of Patchi Kaiju....represent. But yammering on about points cards, rewards, a free toy....and what would be cool.....you sound like a total jackass. So Secret Base does it? FUCKING GREAT. That's Secret Base, a totally different artist running his business in a completely different way. I know you are a RxH fan, but crikey....stop the incessant lamentation of "if only Mori would see the light as I see it..." Sheesh.

I'm just saying that when you realize how much the man has put on the line, personally for his business....it really REALLY irks me when fans start broadcasting advice about how he should run his business. If you really want to be heard, save it up, write it down and the next time you're in Aoto, tell him to his face. If you were a fellow artist and peer...I'd say..."what the fuck"....Andy knows what its like to be a one man show too. I think its really disrespectful. Whatever...I said my piece.

Re: sometimes new threads are GOOD...
I don't find any of Andy's statements are disrespectful to Mori. In fact it's the opposite. If Mori takes it as an insult (I really doubt it) then it proves that he really is running his own game be it good or not but for you to be defensive over something that you don't own just makes it sillier than your intentions.
It's obvious that the fans are speaking out naturally. If you look at any fan sites you will read people making wishes for something that they admire, collect and treasure. It has nothing to do with disrespect. The only disrespecting thing is your comments and attacks to other members on the board.

Re: sometimes new threads are GOOD...
Not to keep running on this, but what other companies do point cards and free fan club figures other than SB? Just curious, because this HAS come up before and I think only about RxH. If everyone BUT Mori did it, I guess I'd understand, but since it seems to me that it's not the normal thing, it makes it different.
Also, SB is more than just Hiddy, he can afford the time and effort to put into stuff like that. Mori is 1 guy running the shop and the figure production, so it might just be out of his reach. Honestly my reward as a collector and fan is more awesome figures. Mori seems to have a lot on his plate, so I'm blown away just by what he does get done.
Not shouting at/against you andy, HELL I'd love it too, but I just never think about it and don't care enough in the end. Also I don't know why it'd be taboo for you to express your opinion/thoughts on it, so to those on that side of the fence: you disagree, blah blah blah, there it is, drop it.
Data, is that new crazed monster Mutant bigger than the normal Mutant? Seems it but I can't tell. Oh man, what would a crazed monster Evil look like?!?!?!?!!? I hope we find out!

Re: sometimes new threads are GOOD...
I hear what you're saying BD. Thanks for saying it so...respectfully. Off the top of my head I think B-club has some kind of fan club. Or maybe it's Marmit. Can't remember. Anyway, there are a few out there, Maybe not so many with the newer sofubi designers though. Eh, it was just an idea. Like Calvin said, that's what fans do - we talk about what we like, don't like, and how things could be even better. Just thinking out loud about how to bring that Shinto Spirit to the 95% of the world's RxH fans who will never set foot in the shop. Anyway, I think this is the first time I've raised the fan club idea publicly, so back into the stable with the horse. Oh Victoria.... If I was Mori, I'd be stoked that people care enough about the company to bring up ideas on how to make it better. That's got to be 10X better than fans getting disgruntled, turning their back, and just ignoring the company completely.

and sometimes new threads are not so great.
The worst part about this thread is the back in forth isn't funny, witty or over the top. If you are going to act like bitches at least put a wig and a dress on so the rest of us get a good laugh.
