Wow...that's a beautiful piece. Popy sofubi V3 with removable boots and helmet. I want to say about 8 inches. Mine's pretty beat but I like it nonetheless.

Looks like a reissue or a bootleg

I would guess a reissue. The package looks different, but still has the Popy label on it. I wonder if bootleggers would reproduce the Popy logo too....

Brian would probably know, along with a year.

I was watching this as well. Per my contact in Japan it's a bootleg.

Would it qualify as a vintage bootleg? :)
I couldn't make out the sticker next to V3 on the header. That would be key.

If its a bootleg then that is a fake licensing sticker too. I would go with bootleg too, I have never seen that header card before.

If so, that's an impressive looking bootleg.

I'm very curious on the manufacture date. Hopefully there'll be an indication.

An extremely well made bootleg of the original figure from a few years back. I believe the original is a bandai, not a popy, but I would have to go check.

Thanks Brian! Is it really made in Japan as printed on the header?

Awwww shucks! And I thought I'd scored my first vintage.

asa bootleg there is no real way to know, but the rumor of the Red Baron coming from China, the Inazuman was definitely from China, it was probably a chinese bootleg.

Jeez....I can't believe I'd forgotten about the Red Baron boot, and I've got the damn thing. They did reproduce the Bullmark logo and everything.

How much was that toy?

I would like to just have the boots cause I have some a bunch of Kamen Rider bad guys that need 'em.

I thought I saw a set of 6 boots for sale but I can't remember if I didn't just dream this...

these bootlegs give me hope that a pile of boots is waiting for me out there somewhere.

Onibaba, yeah, the original is by Bandai, this bootleg shows Popy. Similar to the switch on the inazuman, where it was made by Bandai, and the switched it to Popy as well. The Red Baron is the top of one larger RB figure, and the bottom have the feet from the 5" Bullmark.

Hi,
I have the chance to buy a similar version of this figure for $170 shipped.
I'm not sure if he's a bootleg and worth the price. He looks very similar. Removable helmet.
But boots are molded to body and say JAPAN on the heel and Japanese writing. No scarf or bag.
Anyone have any clue? Is $170 fair?
Thanks in advance!!

The original Bandai standard has removable helmet and removable boots -- the boots have the bandai logo on the bottom and associated writing as per all the vintage bandai kamen rider boots. Also the belt is removable in the original.

Thanks Scotbot!
So there's the original by Bandai and a bootleg? Or various bootlegs?
When I was in HK recently I saw a bootleg that was clearly hand painted and then distressed to look vintage. I would have bought it but it was messy and too much IMHO.
The one I want to buy now looks well painted but I don't get why it says " Japan" on the heel.

tobor- do you have a photo? Its safe to assume this one you are talking about is a boot, that price sounds a little high IMO.
