Post Re: Shag vs Disney's Haunted Mansion
This is my favorite haunted mansion souvenir! I got it at an event and it was given to me by the son of the Randottis who made & sold these as some of the first souvenirs of the Mansion. This one is a replica just for the event. I didn't have the nerve to put inscribe name on it, but it was included, nonetheless.

I have to admit that I too am getting into collecting the vinylmation, probably cause I grew up going to Disneyland CA hundreds of times. I am no completist by any means as lots of the designs do suck. But some of them are VERY good.

As of now I only have the 9" Big thunder Railroad.

if i lived in so cal, i would have that awesome annual pass for residents.

so cheap in comparison to FL!

Here's a site that has some Disneyland and Haunted Mansions dvd's. I haven't seen them yet, but they look really good.

:?:

Florida residents do have discounted annual passes - unlimited park access (outside of blackout days like major holidays / summer are not included but hell, who wants to hit the parks when the masses are there?).

I think it's just a bit over $100 or at least was when I bought my last one.

yes they do, but for me to buy an annual pass for FL (even with my Disney Vacation Club discount), it's just under $400.

i also wouldn't live in Florida, but do plan on living in so cal at some point hence the comment :D

We have annual passes to Florida, and they were about $500 last time. :(

Still pays for itself in 2-3 trips though.

The last two times I was at Disney Land the HM was closed. I have not been to it since I was a kid, can't wait to go again! Love the Shag art!

Is the HM in Disneyland the same as the one in Disneyworld?

I've only been to the one in Disneyworld.

The last time was a couple years ago with my wife (she'd never been) and it was 1:00 am...good times!

They are different- FL has more rooms, CA has some stuff in different areas too. (ie: Library right away, whereas in FL that's later on.)

We went to an event & got to go through the CA HM COMPLETELY ALONE!

If you look, you will see us laying down in the hallways, running around and generally being giddy kids in the park!

Post Re: Shag vs Disney's Haunted Mansion
The HM in Disneyland is also themed to a New Orleans style plantation mansion rather than the FL one which is more of a northern US style mansion.

The mansion in Tokyo is pretty much identical to the one in Florida, except it is different that it is in fantasyland to fit more with japanese culture.

The mansion in Paris is completely different than all of them, and has a Western US theme along with more skeletons that will scare the crap out of you than you can shake a stick at.

Hong Kong does not have a mansion.

I can now say that I have been on all of them in the world :)

Missy what about the wallpaper swatches?

knowing I have a real piece of that mansion in my home makes me very happy. :D

Those are amazing....I still have a desire to make my bathroom haunted mansion themed when (or more like if) I buy my own home someday.

I used to go to Disneyland 2-3 times a month when I was in High School. I lived in Long Beach, CA and had an annual pass. This year I'm gonna get a pass even though I live in Phoenix. My friend and I are planning on going once every month or two months as its only a 6 hour drive.

Haunted Mansion is my favorite ride...with Pirates, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain all coming in close.

My son is at about that age where we will be getting the annual pass to D-land. But we'll probably squeeze out a few more trips with my Disney employed friends since it's free and we get a 30% discount at the shops :)

I have a cousin who gets me in free when she can, but she wouldn't be able to do it once a month, so I will get my own pass this year since I have a friend that wants to go often. Also, employees have days they can't let people in because its crowded; like gay days! :( I love gay days @ D-land, much fun!

Possibly going to D-land on 8/10; but I know with real fans and ebay flippers, the Vinylmations will be sold out at the Shag event!
