And the S7 royalty comment is ridiculous as well. Stop trying to create drama.

There's no shortage of idiots. Sometimes there does seem to be a shortage of common sense...

And no one has to try to create any drama here. It seems to create itself on this board. :)

I think the idea to shutdown the sales forum would be to get everybody to chill and to just talk about toys for awhile. Especially with all the shenanigans going on recently.

Just an idea for now though guys.

This idea has been floated god knows how many times. When it first was brought up the board was small enough that it maybe perhaps could've changed the tone. Now, I think that is just a pipe dream.

Shut it down, all the toys will just move to E-bay, and everyone who is here just to buy toys for cheap will leave.
Only true Skullbrainers, here for the camaraderie will remain.

Post Re: Make an offer
As a very new person coming into this community, I think this is a pretty interesting discussion to be seeing. I've bought a number of things from board members so far, some of them items on the cheap, like all the RxH figs I grabbed that people were unloading, and plenty of other items for fair market prices that were more elusive and deserving of both the effort to find them and prices I paid. That said, I've had nothing but good experiences here, but have been following the Flatline thread just to see where that goes... the first person I bought something from was meanmistert, and I asked about feedback or anything to keep track of people and his explanation was basically that everyone's cool until someone does something wrong, at which point their house is nuked. It seems reasonable with a tight-knit and self-moderating community, but as skullbrain and the vinyl 'niche' grow, maybe that systems applies less? I'd hate to see the trading area go, as it seems to be one of the best places to get a hookup. I don't think there's anything wrong with the trading sections tho, and the comment about camaraderie seems odd to me... we all love the toys and want to talk about them and appreciate them, but in such a niche corner of collecting, isn't sharing the toys alot of what we're here for as well?

I was more joking around than anything with the true skullbrainer camaraderie coments. I just meant those here to talk toys and be part of the community would stick around. Those just here for the sale forum would disappear.
For the record though I consider a 07 join date or plus 700 post count to be true Skullbrain status.

Post Re: Make an offer
Closing sales threads and creating feedback systems reeks of Big Brother - A Better Place for All. None of these actions will make people talk more about toys or create a better system. In fact it'll just cover up the real problems. People will just rely on these systems but it is not fail safe.

If scammers can still scam with Paypal and eBay to their advantage I doubt we can create a system/rules here or protect ourselves on a simple forum based site. We've learnt that the eLocos and Flat-liners are always ahead of the game because it seems its easy to do it here. So no one is asking you to trade anything here, and if you do just be careful.

Non posting members are not a reflection on who they really are even though it might seem they are not active on this board. They come here for info releases and avoid trouble. I am sure most members are quite active before they decided not to anymore (I can think of a handful already) for obvious reasons. Newbies will soon learn it the hard way and they will be influenced in either being active or not based on how they are treated.

A nice hot Assam.
It may be 98 degrees and pure humidity in DC, but the office feels about 68.
