I hope everyone likes what's been put up on the photo site, thus far. This is an open call for any more photos: it would be nice to have a few more of the figures from the 1st Custom Show, and any artists that did one-off HPs (not in the customs shows) or some such. Also, I know jjcat scored one of the KillerJ HP Dorols, and if anyone else did, shoot me some pics.

I'm so sorry you paid for this thing. I would be pissed - I can't believe that both Spooky Parade and Killer J thought this was acceptable. If this got sold to me I'd contact Killer J and ask for a refund. Spooky Parade deserves a stout kick to the balls for making not one, but two of these.

Who is "Spooky Parade?" I actually don't know which was worse the Spooky Parade one or the Refreshment one. If I had gotten either of those I would taken a loss, put acetone to them and sold them as blanks.

from a distance, i liked the "concept" of the spooky parade ones, but seeing detailed, close up shots, i don't which one is bulkier. the fake snow cone stuff of refreshments or the paint of spooky parade.

i actually hoped that refreshment one popped up for super cheap on the after market.
i would have totally bought it.

Spooky Parade makes those Bun Bun hamburger monster guys. They have some other older resin pieces.

I think the Refreshment one was far worse. I feel like I would want to wash my hands after touching that toy.

Refreshment was WAY worse. I like the Spooky Parade one's concept, just kinda sloppy. I actually think it's OK really, just not ok enough to spend money/trades on.

Wow, that is one beautiful monkey! I think that is my new favorite from the show. If you decide to get rid of it, I'm first in line please!

I have been off the board for a few days with some health problems, so let me catch up a little.

I think that we all have different tastes when it comes to these customs. For instance, I thought the refreshment ones were fantastic whch I first saw them. I still think they are great, but may change my mind when I'm holding one in person (got one from YJA, but it is still sitting in my Celga hold). The spooky parage one that I received is absolutely an eye-sore. It looks crudely painted and frankly I think my 9-year-old son could have done a better job. BUT, I also recognize that this is a "style" apparently of the artist, and as such may have it's own following. I have seen many customs that I first thought were awful and later warmed to. I am sure that someone out there would love the Sarumon that I received, just not me, and not most of this board.

I told KillerJ that I was disappointed in the custom that I received. Being a real great guy, he gave me a shot at one of the 10 cronic customs, so it will all work out because there is not a single bad one of those. And, that is the risk of a lucky bag -- sometimes they can be unlucky bags. It's the risk of the unknown, and occasionally the reward of something really special.

Still, I wish someone would that my spooky off my hands. . .

That Spooky Parade was terrible, but what makes it even worse is that crew (or painter within the crew whoever that might be) can paint. They've done some great sprays on vinyl and also their resins. I'm surprised that guy was sold as well, Spooky Parade has produced some great stuff and I don't know what the hell happened here.

the spooky parade one would be half better if you got rid of the other half and it was all the black and white skeleton application.
