 What are you afraid of?
if you don't mind sharing of course
I saw this on a couple other forums and thought it was an interesting talk: fears/phobias etc.
for me it's bees, reflective surfaces like screens and mirrors (even the back of a spoon can really bother me), windows
I'm also rather fearful of deep bodies of water. when I was younger I always imagined the bottom of my swimming pool sliding apart and opening up to be a massive tunnel downwards, full of dark water and big creatures. massive prehistoric sea creatures freak the shit out of me, and even like whales and shit today, I'm like, get the fuck out of here. I HATE going in the water in first-person videogames, have you ever played Half-Life? fuck those big fish.
and this is something that would scare or at least startle almost anyone but, I was shown one of those internet "screamer" things at a rather young age, where a face pops up and screams at you. for several years I had frequent nightmares about it. anything similar on the internet will always really get to me, I usually can't even watch reaction videos that are filmed from a distance
anyways, I'm almost definitely the most cowardly weenie on the board, but does anyone else want to share?

Re: What are you afraid of?
After watching Jaws as a kid I wouldn't go swimming in our swimming pool let alone the ocean. I got over that but I wouldn't even go in the pool with my Dad and younger Brother in. I was 5 or 6.
Around the same time, I would see a shadow figure come into the bedroom I shared with my Brother and lift him out of bed - like a shadow figure kidnapping. I would scream, my Dad would run in. lights would be turned on and everyone would go back to sleep. I used to see shadow figures in the bushes outside my room and I'd either turn on the floodlights or set off the home alarm - that was when I was at least 10. I was once sleeping in my parents room and watched two gnome/seven dwarves-like creatures scale the drapes - the one on the bottom had a candle and would occasionally touch it to the other ones foot to get him moving. That made me smile and laugh.
I'm scared of people I care about being harmed or getting hurt. Lately I've been scared of the effects of oil spills and sovereign debt instability. I wish I was still just scared of swimming pools.
I understand the rest but what's the story with reflective surfaces?

I am pretty much deathly afraid of clowns. That's a pretty tough phobia to have.

I'm afraid of the number of BST posts we'll see over the next week from speculators clearing unwanted S7 lucky bag items.

Re: What are you afraid of?
About a decade ago someone asked me this very question and I ended up drawing it for the person. I don't know how but I combined the whole thing into a drawing of this: Put me on a plane get really high up (heights), stuff me a coffin (claustrophobic) with a dead body (necrophobia) covered in spiders (arachnophobia) and the drop me from that great height into a deep ocean (fear of deep water I can't see the bottom of).

Re: What are you afraid of?
No phobias to note.
Stories of Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, Abominable Snowman spooked me as a kid. Watching episodes on 'In Search of ....' Hosted by Leonard Nimoy would get me going.

I'm kinda being serious hahaha! It's rational though, I work in a field where it's totally possible to happen. I'm not claustrophobic, but I would never go into a cave either.

Re: What are you afraid of?
Caves are one of the best place to find real life Kaiju. Or at least small animals that look like Kaiju. I think the deep ocean is the only better place.
