I'd like to apologize to the "old guard" around here for coming onto the board excited as a "preachers daughter on Easter Sunday" as it was so eloquently put to me.
I didn't mean to be so aggressive in my BST posts. This genre is so new to me that I want to get everything, and for the first time in my life, I have the means to do it. I realize now the negative impact my ferocious buying spree has had on the market dynamics of the board as well. The sellers may be happy, but apparently I have pissed off many would-be buyers by pushing the market up. I apologize and will be much more private in my dealings from now on.
And for all the questions, I will promise to use the search function first before posting anymore questions.
Lastly, if i'm not welcome on the board, let me know to my face, and I will leave.

it's not that people like you arent welcome on the board, it's the fact that some of these newcomers seem to have no interest in connecting with the active members at all. They just want to know if we have any extra skullbrains or pushead figures laying around. The B/S/T forum isnt the main fucking attraction to this spot, That's the main beef that I am having these days. cool that shit out. The beauty of this place is that it isnt flooded with flippers...but ENTHUSIASTS that once and while able hook each other up. We aren't here to set up shop.
Fuck that.
EVERYONE HERE WANTS TO GET EVERYTHING, BUT WE RESPECT THIS PLACE ENOUGH NOT TO BADGER EACH OTHER ABOUT IT.
Here's a tip: DON'T FUCKING ASK FOR THINGS LIKE AN ASTRO ZOMBIE SKULLWING in your first 5 posts.
this isn't elitist bullshit here at all. It's just that I've notice more people coming here like it's a store than a place to connect about a passion.

I think it's a normal reaction for newer folk to come in guns blazing, and I don't think I was much different. After I got bit by the bug, I was sending Ramos and Brian emails about this and that all the time and they patiently (and politely) set me on my path to financial destruction...
After a while, people find out the information they need (Back issues of S7 are required reading by the way), and get a feeling for the availability of certain figures, they settle in and become part of the family here.
I think it's definitely somewhat of a generational thing as to when people see whatever it is that gets them into Japanese vinyl, and I think after this years SDCC there was a much larger influx of new blood than in previous years, so it kinda came as a shock to some of the older board members.
But I think the growth of the interest is a good thing... more support for the toy makers like Gargamel (so they can finally dedicate their full time to toys), and Secret Base and it will allow them to make more kinds of figures.
We all started off as newbies one time or another, so I think a little patience and guidance can go a long way, but I hope the newer folk can understand some of the anxiety the older board members have been showing because of all the questions and requests for some of the cool stuff as if they were available like penny candy.

Hey, dude, this isnt a secret society that you have to have a scenester decoder ring to get into, despite what some of the crankier "OG" think.
Everyone here at one time was "new" and was all stoked on getting their hands on what they wanted, and getting it quickly.I say do what you like, but if you want to get along here you just have to learn some forum manners:
1.Dont bid up a RFSO 'ers auction on ebay or YJA,there is a list on here that has peoples ebay&YJA names.
2.Think before you post, are you really helping our community by posting in the BST that you are willing to pay top dollar for "x", thats like waving a flag to the flippers to gouge us RFSO(even though if your down, you'll know not to pay an outrageous price)
3.Dont Lurk or hide, that shit is lame and makes people suspicious, some people on here smoke alot of weed and get paranoid real easy.
Can anyone else think of some advice for new members to help them be a productive part of our little community?

Cornbluth,
well said, and passionate too!
I think you're referring to newbs as a whole here and not specifically me, but just in case, let me clear things up:
1. I have COMPLETE interest in connecting with the members. Although the perception is that i'm all about BST and buying, buying, buying, If you do a search on my screen name, you will find that 75% of what i post is NOT on the BST.
2. I don't flip. Never have. You won't find anything I buy here on eBay or anywhere else. I'm in acqusition mode for my private collection which I am trying to build up. I'm not trying to set up shop on Skullbrain at all.
3. As far as being a Japanese toy ENTHUSIAST, I would humbly put my passion for Japanese toys up against any collector out there. I have gladly volunteered my time, energy and services to Super7 on more than one occassion.
4. I will admit to being too aggressive on my toy requests and I promise to stop that.
5. I don't think i've asked for any Skullwings in my first 5 posts....waitaminute, i might have
6. Make no mistake, i'm here for the community! (and bludgeoning!)
thanks for sharing Cornbluth, I appreciate your sentiments!

Why take the BST thread away again? To punish longstanding members because of some paranoid delusions that flips are ruinning the scene?
And I think the majority of people on here have bought and sold in the BST and have had no problems(not getting the goods, etc.)Even the man(Ramos) himself has sold stuff on the BST, I cant remember if it was Kaiju related though.
So, I think the "DIE HARD NEVER SELL"is a little tounge in cheek and refering to the big sells, like the Kozik sell of '05.If not ,then we are all just fakin' the Funk.

No, I meant "again" not as removing the BST has happened before, but as this discussion has happened before.

As a newbie on this board, I have been getting into the board discussions little by little. (I'm up to my shins about now.) I never got stuff off the bst board until I had read enough on the boards to know what I was getting &, also, knowing that the folks selling were fans a not just out to make a buck. IMHO, the boards here ain't broke and don't need fixin'. (Go visit the 'alternative' boards for confirmation.) This place is a welcome paradigm shift.
Some of us just take awhile to warm up.

I'm also one of the noobs here soory if my inquiries are among any that have ruffled feathers. i've been a gundam/ultraman collector, and happened to find this website through various searches, and have been bitten by the secret base bug since buying my first skullbrain from super7 (where have I been?....i know...)
i appreciate the helpful responses.
