Grumble Toy Appreciation, Collections & Happenings
This is (north) american idols right? Well anyway, I like to support cool people, and Chris and Ainsley are cool. I figured we could use this thread to keep up to date with what's doin' over at Grumble Toy, and also show support by posting collection pictures and whatever. So I'll start by pointing out that they just put up a bunch of cool preorders from Marmit. http://www.grumbletoy.com/store/index.php?main_page=products_newHere are a couple of my favorites, but go check out the rest.

Re: Grumble Toy
I've been waiting on a reply from Chris on some things for about a week. This was after a few emails back and forth. I wonder what's up. I hope everything is alright.

Re: Grumble Toy
So this is the first GT original toy that was produced completely in-house (minus the vinyl production), eh? Congratulations. I love both colors.

Re: Grumble Toy
With my upcoming move, I haven't allowed myself to buy any new toys, and have sold most of the ones I have, but I will definitely be getting an ilith to go with my wormrah and chou cho!

GT rules, period. I think 90% of my favorite stuff from my collection was bought there.
The new toy is amazing, has a very strong Butanohana feel about it.

Re: Grumble Toy Appreciation & Happenings
Man that was a hard decision. Went with A type since I like the 'overspray' on the top of the wings slightly more than the wingtip spray. There's a special place on my dinosaur shelf for this one...

Re: Grumble Toy Appreciation & Happenings
^ I went with type B, since I like the green wingtip spray a little more but both are great. This got me out of my toy lethargy !

The new toy is amazing, has a very strong Butanohana feel about it. I was JUST thinking the same thing. Chris and Ainsley (and the Amapro guy) have done some great things with creating new and original sculpts in the past two years. This new one looks awesome!!

Hey, thanks everyone! I really appreciate the support and enthusiasm! @ Ghost&Flower: Get out of bed you bum! I thought I'd mix up the release time for some of the overseas people and the early birds. copperhead wrote: The new toy is amazing, has a very strong Butanohana feel about it. You know.. I started sculpting this guy about a year ago. I found out recently from Butanohana's blog that we both use the same process and materials for sculpting. Resemblance through medium??

Didn't get out of bed, but I did get an ilith! Chris, I know that I would like to hear about your sculpting process, and I'm sure others would as well. Care to share?

Not that much to share really. Sculpting using wax, a heat source, and a variety of scrappers, pokers etc. It's a fun, but time consuming way to do it.

Ilith is great, quite perfect for my bird shelf, and you really can't beat that price. Thanks Chris!
