 Re: New Japanese Art
Wow the 6th & 7th one down from the top are my favorite, amazing perspective and layering. That artist has real talent, hope to see more from the light side of the force.

 Re: New Japanese Art
Good question! :p They're by two artists who seem to sometimes collaborate together on exhibitions. One is called Alisa Ota, the other goes by the single name Tokiya. Um ... unfortunately I forget who did which pics. Here's a couple more, this time from the better known Oono Tutomu:

 Re: New Japanese Art
Well, the Christian Right have asked me to remove the "tits" picture, tho personally I can't even imagine Gareth Infinity fapping to that. But sorry, I was forgetting that you live in a country where PEOPLE GET SENT TO PRISON FOR READING COMIC BOOKS.
And NSFW? WHAT ARE YOU DOING READING SKULLBRAIN AT WORK ANYWAY??? Honestly, it's no wonder your economy is in the toilet.

 Re: New Japanese Art
Some pictures from a new exhibition called "Domani - The Art of Tomorrow 2010" at The National Arts Center Tokyo. "Sensations" it isn't but, well ... Suzuki Ryoko (She puts her own face on unrealistic figures based on manga & anime images because, she says, she is "disgusted by how gender & sexuality are treated in the virtual world." Lulz. ) Nagare Manika (i love this!) Machida Kumi Kondo Takahiro Kondo Akino Kanbe Tomoyuki ~ classic nihonga. Furugo Shuichi (Was filled with overwhelming desire to push this over, but prob made of recycled poop or smth, so decided not to touch it.) Toyama Kanae - too much pachinko?

What exactly is it about a sweaty face that makes your motor run tho? Well, just by looking at the photo, one can almost relive the cooling mist hitting a person's face. Then, if you realize that picture is a derivation of the original art, which, as you know, is porcelain with silver beads, the art from art is almost metaphysical..

 Re: New Japanese Art
Makoto Aida is one of the reasons I even started to get into Japanese art, his themes are almost dangerous, and I like it...
