There's a black mini-zag with silver spray that I'd really like... I usually don't beg and plead too much, but I'd appreciate it a LOT if people would sorta turn a blind eye to that particular auction... :D

I'm usually pretty good about auctions... except when I accidently skip by hillsy and atease on the YJA/ebay list... (sorry guys).

I was going to bid with Celga, but if you want it that much, go for it. Do you know when this one came out, by the way?

Thanks Harlan!

Were you able to get one of the 10 clear red ones with inserts from Mark at Max Toys?

Unfortunately I am still looking for a Desura Tank. I hope Super 7 will come through.

Just a side note:

I had already placed a bid on this auction prior to Locomoco making this request. He was kind enough to inquire with me as to my intentions and I politely told him to piss off. Just kidding. :D

I always thought it'd be cool to make your own inserts. You could try various papers, foils, etc.

Yeah, I think there is a market for inserts for fans that would be shaped to fit certain toys. As long as no copywrited image is used, they could even be mass made and sold.

I like the inserts that Mark did for his toys, especially the limited mini Zags. On one of the stomach inserts for the mini Zag, he has Capt. Max's head, for instance. The thought of a mini Zag eating Capt. Max's head just makes me smile for some reason!

It'd be nice if one could download the templates for free for various sculpts, throw them in photoshop or what have you, and everyone can have their own personalized cheaper than buying a second one customs. Why would someone need to sell paper cutouts? If I'm not mistaken someone on this board offers the gargamels for printing out facsimilies yourself free of charge.

alright. you can have it. That's just one less person to bid against for the next one. I will be interested to see what it ends up selling for.

My memory may be failing me, bit I THOUGHT I remember a Gargamel link to printable files for inserts for the Gacha-Dokuro when they first came out. I'll have to see if I can find the bookmark.

I can't believe how much people are paying for these little things lately. Hype sucks. Patience is the answer.

Well, that particular one wasn't a general release... it was a lucky bag special. So there aren't too many of that kind around.

I'd focus on something else until the hype dies down.
Good deals to be had elsewhere while folks fight over these.

I wasn't talking about that one specifically. In general, I think people are paying too much for these lately. Just my opinion. The Gargamel boom seems to be in full swing right now. Eventually it should calm down a bit. This feels just like last October.

So, who won the mini Zag? Anyone want to weigh in?

I did not bid on it due to the request, but I would have paid that much for it had I moved ahead. Got to go the distance if you ask others to "turn an eye". Wish you had gotten it!

There's a limit to what I think we should be paying on these things... general releases go for $20, and I don't think we're doing ourselves any favors by paying through the nose and reasing the bar on asking prices. We're already seeing the result on YJA, and I don't think it's a good thing.

Even for a lucky bag release, it wasn't THAT dynamic a paint job that warranted the cost that might've been necessary to win it. With Celga fees and shipping, I can't see paying $175+ for that.

If I didn't have a huge fucking tax bill to pay by the end of the week I probably would've jumped in and paid that much for it too. But then again, I'm on crack and I always end up overpaying for the stuff that I really really want. Congrats to whoever got it, it's a killer piece.

On a side note, does anyone know how many of this particular paint were made?
