Re: Which Video Games Are You Currently Playing?
I don't care about the combo fanciness as much as I care about the full out sloppy violence. I'm 14 deep down and can't wait for Bulletstorm and to pop in a copy of "Ride The Lightning" really loud while playing eating pizza. That won't happen that accurately but still, the spirit's there.

Re: Which Video Games Are You Currently Playing?
The demo for Bulletstorm was okay, but I'm hoping the storyline for the full game will be much better. Wasn't that impressed with the whole Echo gameplay.
Just finished Dead Space 2 last nite, and I gotta say that the wait was well worth it. Gonna finish up some of the last achievements before tackling Hard Core. Being able to only save three times is going to be tough.

Re: Which Video Games Are You Currently Playing?
When it comes to FPS, story's are generally the last thing I care about. It's just all game play. I'm mostly curious to see what the multiplayer will be like. I go elsewhere for story lines.

Re: Which Video Games Are You Currently Playing?
If the campaign storyline for any FPS is not worth it, then it's not worth paying the full price on the release date IMO. With Epic Games behind Bulletstorm, I'm expecting a storyline as awesome as the Gears of War franchise. If that's not the case, then I'll wait for Bulletstorm to become Platinum Hits. $60 bucks just to play the Gears 3 beta? No thanks.

I disagree because a great FPS game is one I can play on multiplayer for a year or more and not get bored and never touch the campaign. I'd easily pay full price for that. But that's just me and that doesn't mean I think there shouldn't BE a campaign, I just never touch them. I get bored against the computer and story's are great to have but for me I leave them to single player games. Batman, Red Dead (though also multiplayer, it's different then a FPS), Mario games, RPG's, these all better have some great stories. FPS? I just want nonstop violence in a competitive format. Again, just where I stand on that. I can see how others would feel different. I don't even know what the Gears of War story is BTW, I just never cared. I like the L4D series for this. The multiplayer and campaigns are essentially the same thing. The "story" is interesting even though it's not really there. Like most great zombie movies, it's not as important as the survival and the vague feel around it gives it appeal. L4D is kind of in it's own league with that.

I went for a year and would joke with friends "What?!?! There's a single player campaign?"

That's how I am with Black Ops. I have a friend who only plays campaigns though and doesn't see the appeal of the multiplayer so it's all mixed up with that stuff!

Re: Which Video Games Are You Currently Playing?
Totally understand your point, but for me, I need a lot more content if I'm going to dish out full price for a retail game. With no competitive multiplayer, I feel the game is going to need a strong campaign to contend with other FPS's coming out around the same time i.e. Killzone 3. The multiplayer Anarchy mode is nothing different from Gears' Horde mode.

Re: Which Video Games Are You Currently Playing?
Oh so there is no vs multiplayer? In that case I can wait on retail and hope the story is good. I just assumed there'd be a deathmatch type thing.
If there's vs/death match style multiplayer I care less about story.
1-Player: I want substance, lots please! Multiplayer: I want vs. and don't care about substance as long as gameplay is killer.

Re: Which Video Games Are You Currently Playing?
MvC3 looks awesome. Want to pick it up, but I need to pick up a tourney edition fight stick first before I play any new fighting games. My SF4 fightpad isn't going to cut it with MvC type gameplay.

I bought a PS3 last month just because MvC3 is coming, and a Madcatz SSF4 TE S fightstick a week later. Nate wrote: MvC3 looks awesome. If you don't want to buy the parts to fix your SF4 pad up (bonus: choose your own colors! downside... you still have the SF4 picture background), then just eBay a good used fightstick from somebody with quality feedback. I picked mine up at w/the auction closing when everyone else seemed to be asleep, as I had practically no competition, and it arrived in mint shape for $88 shipped

Re: Which Video Games Are You Currently Playing?
Hori also makes some nice sticks (HRAP series) if you're searching for a better deal in the used market.
I'm on the fence about MVC3. I know a local shop that sometimes releases games early so I'm going to go to it tomorrow...if they have it I'll buy it (like a chance thing...if they have it then it was ment to be)...otherwise I keep playing SSF4 and hope that they release the AE for PS3/XB (actuallly fingers crossed that ultimately a PC release comes). Hell...a PC release of MVC3 would be nice as well. Also looking at Arcana Heart 3. I saw that it's being released in EU so that's another one I might get.

I'm assuming the spam-trio of Storm, Magneto, and Sentinel will be nerfed, and that makes online play "not too bad" IMO. It makes me sound greasy, overweight, and really pale, but I think the rest of my week belongs to MvC3 Galactus, and his chrome-clones before him, look to be a much cooler (and harder) boss fight than was featured in either MvC2, or Tatsunoko vs Capcom. TvC's boss isn't easy, but I also strongly dislike it - on higher difficulties, there really is pretty much no strategy Aside from that, I'm still dying for them to drop Street Fighter Alpha 3 for PS3 via PSN. SFA3 and X-Men vs Street Fighter have my undying love.

I was so into Diablo 2 for a while 4 or 5 years ago...I don't know what made me stop. my saves are gone by now but the mere mention makes me want to start again. edit: reminds me of my brother and his best friend playing through the baldur's gate games over summer vacation when I was younger...vanilla coke and cheez-its (or cheese nips? we've been arguing about which it was) 'round the clock. I never played but I loved to spectate. the breeze through the open windows, and all the action and drama between the two PCs, I loved it even though I wasn't really a part of it. fuck. I miss all that.

I don't have my copy yet, but if any of you MvC 3 peeps want to add me, my XBL ID is dumarq.
I also play (horribly) Super Street Fighter IV.
