 Re: New Elegab sculpts!
Just checking mine out, I was impressed at how smooth the black was AIRBRUSHED! Smooth fade, almost zero spattering. Of course the small teeth details and eyes are brush detailed. If you have ever painted with V color you would know it can't be brushed smooth over large areas. Just my 2 cents.

But mine's a one-off brush painted version And it's past midnight here, better get to bed. I'm not too sharp past midnight.

I am pretty confused by the whole thing myself but If you click to see the BBS it will take you to it. Worth a try in any case, that Hito is looking sweet.

 Re: New Elegab sculpts!
I received my "Premium BBS" King Smog "Crazy" yesterday A truely amazing piece ! I could not dream for a better color combo. Based on GID vinyl, red & white chimneys (essential to me) puke out dark smoke on a green & blue sky, to form a red, green & golden cloud of fumes. The silver teeth & claws add for perfect details. STUNNING. It's signed and dated under the foot too I know need to find a descent place on my shelf (and some time to take good pics) !

On the contrary, what I like from Nari-San is that he has both his personal sculpting & painting style. Sure, it's bad when you don't like a special colorway and it rebukes you from getting a toy. But what's fun is that you can collect all the monsters from his series to get a very homogeneous fresco. JCat made some nice pics enlightening this. But from all his patterns, I am personally not too fond of his simpliest colorways for his GID pieces. Though they sometimes work well, depending on the sculpt. I've not liked any GID Tonneran or Puppet Seijin so far. I was wondering who painted his production pieces ? Does he do that all by himself ?

Congrats by the way Plastic, even bad pictures make it look beautifull. To me Nari's pieces stand out like a signature move. Judging from my smoggs and Hitogomora's all have individuality and paint application is flawless. I can understand some colour type are similar to previous ones, but dropping 2 or 3 colours at a time gives everybody the chance to spread out colour wise.

 Re: New Elegab sculpts!
^^^^^ The special coloring version is sold between the 11th in the end this week and the 12th. Sounds to me like this "special coloring" Hitogomira along with the new Mr. X and Oil Crisis will be up this week end. I'm guessing it's another lottery?

 Re: New Elegab sculpts!
The one-off Mr. X that supposedly goes up soon is probably the best painted anything Nari has done - I love it! But like I said, I think he's a great sculptor but generally not a very good painter...or at least needs to study color theory and become more creative with colors. His coloring works in his drawings, but not so much on his figures. And I'm not sure, but I think it might even go beyond color choices and also include color placement. Whatever it is, he needs to get more creative (not necessarily more "wild") with how he paints his figures. Too often they look kinda "blah". And I agree with Joe about that Tonneran - wish I could trade mine in for that! Tonneran is my favorite sculpt of his, but so far there's been no reason to own more than one because of my feelings on his color choices.
And I HOPE it's a lottery for those one-offs - if so it'll be the first lottery for anything that I'll have entered. I need a shot at that Mr. X. But from the terrible translation I got the feeling that they'll just be put up for sale at some point and whoever gets to them first wins. Who knows though...

You can submit your entry to try to win that Hitogomira when the lottery opens from July 11-12 Japan time. BBS (Bullentin Board System) is a seperate lottery premium for a custom 1-off painted by Nari-san. Submissions can only be placed if you have a prior purchase directly from Elegab which Nari-san will confirm. You need to write a short little essay about one of the Elegab kaiju in order to be eligable for the premium. Shop is just random Elegab figures that may be 1-off or extra stock that Nari-san has for sale for first come first serve. He doesn't use shop to often. Last time he used it was back in November 2010.
