Annals of Amapro

Tue Jun 28, 2011 12:07 am

I didn't see a thread dedicated specifically to Amapro, a great line of vinyl [worthy of recognition], so if I am doubling up I apologise. Otherwise, let's see those great shots of your Amapro figures/collection!! :D

I'll start things off with this Mechagonira:

Image

Unfortunately I don't have one, and don't know much about it, other than everything about it appeals to me. Part horned ape, part robot, all disco; how can you go wrong? From the poor translation, it could be a Pachi card inspired figure. I know Chris from GT received another version of one a while back (see http://skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=29268&p=414468&hilit=+amapro#p414468) I've got it on my want list, just in case it's out there somewhere.

And now on to all the rest......

I'm really happy to have seen several new things he has sculpted.
I totally love all these guys:

This is such a trip.
Love the facial expression on strawberry head.

Also, annals. KC might need a name change to Kaiju Annals.

Yes! Was trying to figure out why that face was so familiar.

Great write-up Myles. Loads I obviously didn't know about this guy. I am so jealous of Jeremy's triple threat of Mechagoniras.

I definitely agree with more GT collabs. So far I want everything I have seen

Also picked up the Grody Shogun version from LULU yesterday...

I think I have the biggest Penagallan collection in the states (but Id be happy to be proven wrong)
PS the heads are by Marmit (extra nerd points for knowing that!)

I can't seem to find the name of Gamera-with-a-Barugon-head. Anybody know? I am mighty attracted to him.

Here's Bananga. Weird looking squid head guy. Then again, all Amapro's creation are weird! Love it!
He's 7.5" much taller than expected.

blakewest, do you happen to know if Kingrampus (or any of these other critters!) are from a particular show? I have the leg-less glow version of him and I've always wondered where he was from.
