Fuck Yeah!

I've been on he night shift at my job for nearly 4 years now... Everyday I work 2pm-10:30 pm (which is basically 1:30pm to 11pm with travel)- making me a hermit, keeping me from being able to do practically anything during the week. I hate these hours. But it's a good job.

Well today after bidding on every day-shift position they've posted in the past 3 years my number finally got called. Starting either August 1st or 8th I transfer to a new building literally 5 minutes from my house and I go on Day work- 7am-3:30pm!

Fuck Yeah.

Right now I don't mind that I came up empty handed on the mixed parts Boss Carrion, That I missed the SDCC'11 Skullwing or Ollie... In two weeks I can go back to being a regular human being again.. I don't think this day could get any better... unless someone has a marbled Skullwing they want to sell...

Great news man, I hate working at a place wondering how long it's going to be before someone on first shift dies or quits, so the long line of people on third can move up a pace... You start wanting to take matters into your own hands after awhile, thankfully you did it the honest way (hard work and determination)

I work a 9-5 in KoP and sometimes I think about what it would be like to work overnights or swing shifts, grass is always greener I suppose.

Congrats! I work 3pm-11pm and prefer it to the AM shift but would HATE overnight (11pm-7am ugh!) It's nice to get hours that work for you, totally changes your day!

The commute is slightly easier because everyone is either at work or home when you're on the road.

It is changing it already- today and tomorrow are my last days... I'm training the mechanic who is replacing me on night shift its strange. I think my brain is phoning it in a little and it'll be like starting a new job even though I'm at the same company.

I just can't wait to have that first dinner at dinnertime with Mrs. hellopike...

Thanks- I'll be glad to start, because I've been doing the same work for four years now and in the building I'm moving to, they manufacture a different product totally, so the machinery and work is completely different. It'll be a challenge being the new guy again.
