 Re: Dokuwashi database and collections
I don't know, I think you ended up on the better end of the stick anyways on that one Thanks for clearing this up though Brian. Mine definitely has a number out of 25, though I can't remember which one exactly, and it is currently stored in a basement in Montreal. Learning [stuff] like this is exactly what makes these kind of lists great. keep on sharing guys!

 Re: Dokuwashi database and collections
If memory serves, both the pink and black unpainteds were in lucky bags at at Super7's 2007 anniversary party so technically there wasn't an individual retail price on them as there were different sizes/prices of bags. They were a promotion in advance of the forthcoming Ghostland line. Brian called them prototypes at the time and advised that there were still some issues with the part fits to iron out. Also a little fuzzy on the cost of the blue one in the second photo, but I think it was $65.00 or thereabouts. As a side note for those who don't know, some of the bags included a proto of a Ghostland mini, a spider character that never went to production. I think it was called "Black Widow." (?)

 Re: Dokuwashi database and collections
The blue figure you're asking about was called the "Dusk's Fading Light" edition and was a 2007 SDCC release. There were also some extremely limited fez hats made for the release. Beat up header: Fez:

When S7 still had them in stock, they were simply advertised as SDCC 2007. Btw, is that gray Visighost a test shot? Niiiice. And I remember that Black Widow guy... We had blue ones at the store. Pretty, but wouldn't stand.

 Re: Dokuwashi database and collections
Jan and I have the Black Widow figures in both painted and unpainted light blue. They have tiny feet but the ones we have stand pretty well.
And, yes, I do believe that for the most part Dokuwashis retailed for $65, except for the the Bwana Spoons handpainted edition, which was more.

 Re: Dokuwashi database and collections
Don't have/own anything to add that isn't already posted.
We cherish the 4 large ones we have and I wouldn't mind having more despite the fact that this is probably the shittiest toy S7 ever made. Bottom joint crashes into the arm joints, middle joint works on some, not on others, overall fig warped in many cases, QC was bad and whoever craved the excess flash away must have been stoned. That said I always sorta' felt the fuckedupedness added to the characters charm. Oh and I think I've prob painted a doz or so? Such a fun figure to paint. Love them!!!
I've always wanted to see if Brian's got any weird one-off/test-pulls and such?
Also want a blank GID so bad it hurts my teeth!!!

 Re: Dokuwashi database and collections
The Dokuduos are a bit different. The unpainted black was an SSSS release produced to demand. The green unpainted was a limited resin piece.

Looking forward to seeing your efforts. http://super7store.com/dokuduo.html

 Re: Dokuwashi database and collections
Thanks for the advice! Nabbed the pair from Myplasticheart, since I really want the red one to keep, and they still had it in stock.
I love that it looks like something Mario should be bouncing around on.
