Re: A Nag Pa I Root
i wonder is it painted marbled or factory marbling? if later which is essentially unpainted, retail prices are spiraling off control. or maybe there are other bonus ?

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
Looks like its factory pulled GID marble, like the first pink/GID prototype Nagballs that L'amour and COOP had. I'm guess since its a collab and plus the metal tin case, thats the reason for the 3x price increase?

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
$380 retail for a stupid nag ball?! I mean they're cool n all but fuck that guy. Really wish people would come to their senses & stop paying for all of this hype. Secondary market's gonna have to catch back up to retailers catching up to them which should put this in the $800 range for anyone not "lucky" enough to score one from the lotto or however they are doing it. Even if it came with a shirt or something, still ridiculous. Oh, and don't forget shipping! Hell, I paid half of that for a PAINTED FULL-SIZED NAG! Just plain retarded. Well, to anyone else, have fun with that one.

Havent those balls blown by the 1000 dollar mark on the resale market a while ago, or is that all just shill bidding and related shenanigans ? Way too expensive for my thin wallet in any case.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
So when Mishka jacks up the prices it's all a-okay, "gallery mark-up" etc., but when some Japanese shop does it (and even offers overseas folks the opportunity to participate in the lottery - those evil dogs!), people act all offended? REALLY..??? That said, 30k for an unpainted Nagball seems indeed a bit on the zany side, GID or not. I'll pass.

Well, at least you got a handmade luchador nag mask, a new screen-printed case, AND it was painted as the whole package. But, either way, its a fart cupcake in the mouth.

It would be funny if all the NAGs boobotchers flipping on ebay right now went for for less than retail of the new nagball.

I'm not saying he should do that I'm just saying what he's probably doing. In almost every case (not just here), the retail prices will eventually follow the secondary market prices. How does Kaws get away with charging over $300 for a figure? It's certainly not cost plus a 100% mark up....it's much more. The prices on these toys will move just like limited prints. If an artist is hot and collectible he/she will charge more than someone who is not. That's the name of the game and we all know that but still end up feeling stung when it happens.

Going out on a limb, but I think the KAWS stuff has allot more involved then a blank vinyl pull. This is seriously a stupid price for a blank ball of vinyl.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
I don't think the price of the new Nagballs is that absurd. With these lotteries, the real fans go up against a shit ton of flippers hoping to buy cheap and sell big. Well, what if the retail price was higher? That would mean a larger overhead for the flippers, as well as less of a profit margin. I would imagine that, although not entirely, this will ween out a few of those players looking to make a quick buck... raising the odds a bit for true collectors. And sure, the price is higher, but you have a better shot at not having to pay an exorbitant amount of blood money later.
If I were the artist, I'd be pissed that some grundle-fuck out there is making 5X the profit I made on my own blood, sweat, and tears... for doing absolutely no work outside of sending an email. I don't think it's a slap in the face to fans for him to raise his prices a bit. I do think it's kind of a slap in the face to him tho, for true fans to expect him NOT to, considering what the demand is for his shit. Afterall, he could always outsource this shit, get it mass produced, sell each piece for WAY less, satisfy all demands... and then we'd be on here bitching about how his work is mass produced krap.
