Re: The "What You Got In The Mail That Isn't A Vinyl Toy" Th
It’s actually a little custom that I had one of my GK-painter friends do for me. It’s the head from Swedish sculptor Staffan Linder’s awesome Kinski/Adjani Nosferatu model kit on a weirdly-articulated, headless 70’s era action figure I found buried deep in my driveway about 10 years ago. The original plan was to paint the jumpsuit in a patterned, Disco-era style, but paint would just not adhere well to this body at all, despite various approaches/types of paint being used. Still, I’m very happy with it- I gotta take some more pics of him in the crazy dancefloor poses this body is capable of.

How tall is he? The body kinda reminds me of the Marx articulated line, but it could be one of any number of bootlegs from the period when these were popular. Here is a shot of the ax Hazard figure for comparison (though these guys didn't have the wasit articulation).

Erik, OMFG! guys are so much fun!!! I was lucky to score two sets: flesh and black. Oh yes....I would love to nab a set in black ! When I was looking them up online I saw sets in solid purple and clear blue that were also awesome. I think the recent return to these old school pocket figures is fun. I vividly remember trading/painting M.U.S.C.L.E. at recess and lunchtime at school.....and then having a teacher confiscate them for dorking around in class with 'em

Re: The "What You Got In The Mail That Isn't A Vinyl Toy" Th
This thread is kind of ridiculous. I see so many toys in here (and some of them vinyl). Anyhow I just got this in after searching for a long time: Halfway there on issues, but mainly really just looking for issue 1 and 2, which I can't seem to find. I didn't really enjoy the Pushead Devilman article. I'm not a fan of his work at all, could care less about hardcore or japanese punk, and really just wanted to hear about the Devilman TOYS not his reflections hanging out with friends in Japan (even though one of them was the creator of Devilman- Go Nagai). The pictures of the Devilman toys were great though, and the article on Cyborg Clears had nice shots of some rare clear heroes etc.

Agreed, the more toys I see here just makes me think maybe they just assume it's the "What I Got In The Mail" thread by mistake, but you're probably right- it's double up on some hawt hypez toy posts! Personally I like to see no toys in this thread at all, but that's just me. I mean I get it that some of the toys pics are of the non japanese variety but I really thought this was the anti toy sharing thread. Maybe I'm mistaken? The Devilman issue is #4. I do searches by issue sometimes because I really want to know what exactly is in each issue (covers only give you clues as to what's in them). You'd be surprised how little info there is on specifics. Mainly looking for the vintage articles/pics. Anyhow I never see this issue for sale, so it just came up in one of those searches and it was on Amazon for $15. I said fuck it why not...
