Here is what is baffling me a bit.
I'm pretty much exploiting the whole inner-circles of Nag conspiracies and experience, yet some of you are still hung up on the fact that I have owned one to many Nags than you.
So for those who think I should be torched, well, I think I already doused myself in gasoline and about to light a match...
Let me ask you some questions.
How come you never see anyone customize a Nag?
Where's the L'amour run? How about Skinner? List goes on...
That's because Shigeru feels like he's the only one that should paint them. Why?

I think some of your guys questions are to the power-to-be/out of my control and "rank". I mean, I would love to hear the "in-betweeners" of this whole thing. But there are "politics" involved, and well, just ask yourself, "who hasn't replied on this topic? Why aren't they chiming in?"
And whatever happened to "that guy" who is no longer on this board?
Some of you think I'm more involved with Mishka than I really am.
I have no clue what they do, I'm not involved in any of their business practices or whatnot. I think there are more "groupies" that are more into the involved than I am.
I'm seriously just a fan that got to do a header.
They just liked some of the artwork I did, and gave me the opportunity to do a header. Sometimes days before a deadline.
Sometimes I am not paid with the toy in return, which is all I ask for (ie: Phantom Bootleg/Cure Boogie).
But I guess I get it, I mean they got a business to run and money to make, so I can't gripe I guess. Or maybe L'amour is too busy and he has no time for headers with all of his releaes and stuff in the works. And if that helps him to become more focused on his craft and art, I'm all for that. I want to see L'amour succeed in the art/galleries than him being stuck to header work and t-shirts.
But it is a bit of a bummer sometimes, when everyone is having a blast and parting at comic-cons, and the only way I see my header and toy packaged together is from pics of others. It sucks when I have to be like "hey, can you post some more pictures of that toy?!"
Then again, I always go back to something an artist, Uzi Emperado, once said "Just because you made some art for a band's t-shirt or album, doesn't mean you are in the "band."
I'm learning the hardway, I guess.

Did Tara paint the CCM nags?

L'amour did a custom, MVH did one, Dlux did 2, pizzatrash(?) did one, and of course frank mysterio
I think Coop did some GID nags?

Tara did not paint those. She just chose the colors.
COOP did not paint any of the GID ones. Shigeru personally made that run for his Gallery show/release.
MVH/L'amour/Pizzatrash did customs, but they were not part of any of Shigeru's release. Done as personal request or on their own terms/behind closed doors for others, some years before this whole hyped toy blew up to what it is now.
Oh, and the words on regards of that D-lux custom? Yeah, he was pissed and that is where that whole "altered" bit came from...

Look, I'm not trying to personally attack anyone. And it wasn't my intentions when starting this NagNagNag: Watergate Scandal: Confessions of a Skullbrainer. And for those that understand that, thank you.
I just thought, you know what, why not let people see a glimpse behind the curtain and see what's going on behind scenes.
Because no one has done so or ever will. This will probably be the most you'll ever hear about this in "public" on the boards.

Just my 2 cents on the one I painted. I didn't do the physical altering. I was just asked to paint it. More so. Fix it. That was about all I could do. If someone handed me a pristine 4 eyes to paint. They would get it shipped directly back.

The first one I did, I didn't really know much about the figure. I didn't like it. And at the time I was painting anything I could get my hands on. Wish I still had it. Unpainted...

Soooo, is the toy, cool or not really? or is it just hype? But who made it cool? was it the "fans" or was it the maker? Is that why they get dibs(fans) or do you have to do business with him? Do we have to join the lottos or do we join because we want to? Do we like the toy or is it all mental or is it just the hype? Do you think we never win because he's looked at all our collections and seen grody figures in them or just because we weren't lucky enough? Can Dlux win a Nag someday or will he never have another chance?

I've hated almost every version of this toy and the hype around it but the threads are always my favorite. It is funny to see what grown men will do and say to try to get their hands on a worthless (outside maybe 100 collectors?) piece of plastic, most likely to flip it or trade it in a few weeks.

Shigeru found out I traded a 1yr old toy of his behind the scenes through someone else's picture on Flickr. I was near banned.
Shigeru keeps an eye on everything.
He refers to his creations as "children". Four-Eyes are his daughters, the OG Genjin and Saimese are his sons.
Shigeru does not like Grody Shogun toys.
I'm not really involved with Mishka/NagNagNag as much as people think I am. I'm not "in". I just made a few headers, and sometimes without compensation.
Shigeru is a cool dude and a great artist. And he has a rhyme and reasoning to his methods.

I mean, no one is bringing up the two old unpainted Nagballs in a certain someones collection, and the non-disclosure agreement that was made in that transaction?

Fans are a crucial element of any successful creation of hype.

Like hype, coolness is a group thing. If my mom is the only person who thinks i'm cool i'm pretty much not cool at all.

Shigeru is definitely a one man band but he is not engaged in a strictly one way monologue with the people, especially artists, who follow and appreciate his work. It's a dialogue that goes both ways, and sometimes even lowly fans might contribute a twinkle of inspiration.

Anyway i don't even think that's the claim Walter was making.
