Well, maybe not. :) More than likely they just appreciated the design aesthetic or were trying to make a cool looking product, but intentional or not, it definitely worked on me. The Marusan tin battery-operated Godzilla is one of those things that, for me, just defines the vintage field, and seeing it represented in this way honestly gave me a huge grin. So I thought I would share.

I also happen to love ginger beer, so that was just a bonus. This comes from the Phillips brewery in Victoria, though it is actually the first non-alcoholic product I have seen from them. I imagine this might have been a one-off production thing, and knowing that ginger beer does not always get such a big reception, I doubt I will see it again (but I hope I am wrong). That, and it is a pop sold at the liquor store.

And yes, it was delicious!

Neat graphics for sure. I would definitely buy a bottle if I came across one.

i think the bit i like most is that it's relevant to the product...

they didn't just slap it on some random grape soda or yet another IPA.

Since I have had a few requests for it, I'll just add that this is probably not easily available, and probably extra difficult to folks in the US. Sorry if that came off as a tease; didn't mean to set off a wild hunt. It was certainly a seasonal production, and maybe have been a one time thing as I said. I think they sent a few bottles to selected stores alongside their regular beers. I doubt much of it made it off Vancouver Island (maybe to Vancouver). That said, if I can track a few more bottles down, I will do my best and see if I can share more info that I find.

Awesome! If possible I'd love to have one too if you find enough to go around.
