Although Tomy's line of windups was mostly cute animals and little dome headed robots a few monsters snuck in as well. I imagine they were passed off as turtles in the western markets:

I'm pretty sure I had that white bodied kappa as a child, or something very close to it.

Such great "mod" design on that. The stringy tentacles are crazy.

That is seriously such a killer spaceship Paul. How large is it? The pilot looks so fragile, nevermind even for kids. That he is still standing (sitting) and all his tentacles are there is awesome.

Now, I want them, of course. Also wonder how the pig fits into the set. Or what exactly makes a cannibal mad. Or what exactly is the gorilla grinning about?

I saw these vintage wind-ups on here & was really interested in finding some. I just scored this guy last week & he arrived today. Thanks everyone for the pics & info. I wanna try to find more of these guys...

So cool! I think you snagged the best one yet. Just look at that face, and the box art. :P So sweet.

Ya I was stoked when I saw him! I've only seen the few that have been posted on here but when I saw this one I assumed he was from the same series.

And ya the box is amazing! I'm really shocked that it is in such good condition after such a long time. And he was only $10! An awesome price for something so old & so damn cool...

That wandering monster for $10 was a great deal. Still looking for that one.

Greg Mishka that is such a cool score. I keep imagining possible strange places that you may have come across a box of them. Would love to see a video of them all jiving.
