Montreal Policia are handing out pamphlets throughout local shops and street level businesses, suggestions on how best to prepare for the finals (riots).
I'm all the way up on Saint-Denis, nowhere near the Bell Centre.

The Penguins do have a tendency to choke come the playoffs... But yeah, no major hopes. And if there are riots in Mtl, I'll start cheering for the Sens.

I can't believe the Blue Jackets might make the playoffs...and the Wings might not.

Post Re: The good ol' hockey game
Going to be a big night for the Canadiens today. Of course I would like to see them destroy the Laffs, but also winning the divisional title would be a huge bonus. All depends on Boston's performance in the next two games too, but it is not so out of reach.

Boston winning the division
Any type of win vs. both Washington + Ottawa
Gain two points in their remaining games, combined with any type of Montreal loss
Gain a least one point in their remaining games, combined with a Montreal loss in regulation vs. Toronto

Montreal clinching northeast provided
Any type of win vs. Toronto, combined with any type of Boston losses vs. Washington + Ottawa
Gain at least a point against Toronto, combined with two Bruins regulation losses, or held to a single point
A regulation loss vs. Toronto, combined with Boston regulation losses vs. Washington + Ottawa

I'd like to see Boston win that division of course but I keep eyeing up playoff match ups for what would suit them best. The team they're most successful against is Ottawa so I'm really hoping for the standings to remain the same.

The other team I love is Detroit so you know I'm rooting for them to keep the playoff streak going. Been watching their last few games not too worried against Dallas. Fuck the Blue Jackets! Expansion team wasteland. Original Six or die!

Post Re: The good ol' hockey game
Just saw the score from last night's game, and admit to being surprised. After a good performance against Washington, even though it was two back-to-back, I thought Boston would come out to pound the Senators. In the end though, I hope they run over Toronto, that will be even better. As for facing Ottawa ourselves, you never know which team is going to show up for Montreal in the playoffs, so I am just glad we made it this far.

Post Re: The good ol' hockey game
Boston can't keep a lead nor get momentum to overcome being behind. As much as everyone has complaints about how their team is doing just picture this: every time you watch your team play, they go up by 2-3 goals only to quit playing or take a ton of penalties in the last 5 minutes. Result: loss in the last few minutes of game or OT. Or the fall behind, finally start playing, only to tie it and repeat the aforementioned process.

It is so utterly frustrating to watch them asleep at the wheel making lazy passes that become turnovers, not clearing the zone, getting scoring chances and hitting a post or not burying the puck when they are inches from the net. I almost wish they'd get a 6-1 drubbing, at least I can tune out then. No I have to go the distance to see them lose in the last 5 minutes each game, or breath a sigh that they barely won.

It's not Tukka's fault either, or Khudobin. They're left out to dry by piss poor D.

Just check out the Habs last five seasons. This has to got be one of the worst things to witness as a fan; so I can feel the pain. It is incredibly frustrating. This season they seem to think a good strategy is to give the opposing team four goals in the first and second, to build up a false (?) sense of confidence. Yep, that works really well.

I have enjoyed Lucic fighting lately though. At least he's finally doing something! Looked tired fighting Neil but still held his own, he was on a long shift prior to it. Fucking destroyed Aulie though, and he's a big fucker.

Who's ready for the playoffs?! I'm watching Blues vs Kings now. Hit-fest!

You know what's annoying? NBC is offering free streaming online of every game, BUT in order to be able to view anything you have to enter your cable provider and password?! WTF is that shit? If I had cable I wouldn't need to watch it online!

I am definitely excited. That shit about the login is utter garbage Lixx. TSN, which is the main broadcaster for the season games outside of HNIC, also completely has their heads up their arseholes. They stopped streaming games online, because they want to force you to buy their mobile app. Well fuck you Bell Globemedia, I don't have an iPad, cell phone, etc, etc. But I DO HAVE stupid idiotic crap Bell internet, so goddamn give me some hockey online. Arghh!

At least now in the playoffs I am hoping the CBC will have most of the games (Canadian teams at any rate). I am so so tired of terrible bootleg satellite streams. Bring on the playoff action!

Watching LA vs St-L myself. Interesting last few seconds... :)
I thought CBC was supposed to show the Chicago game, which I'd rather watch, but I can't find it...

EDIT: They just switched to Chi-Min. Hmm. Yay?

Finally the Bruins play a 60 minute effort! The Leafs were never really on my radar, but I now see why a lot of people hate them. Cheap shots and at least 2 game misconducts as the Bruins refused to get off their game for that BS. Well at least Bruins and Habs fans can agree on one thing: the Leafs suck!

Are the Montreal Canadians the Pittsburgh Penguins of Canada? Hear me out. I just notice that the Hockey Night in Canada play by play guy (he's kind of annoying btw) just gushes and goes on an on about the Canadians all the time. That whole broadcast seems to be geared to showcase Montreal Canadians. Maybe I'm wrong, it just seems like they are in love with them much like NBC is in love with Crosby/Pens. Does Molson own the broadcast? They also need to lose Cherry! That guy really lost his marbles a long time ago.

I don't know, maybe I can't be impartial though, since I am an admitted fan, but I have never found this. The thing is with the Canadian broadcasters, and the CBC in particular, they will cheer on whoever is winning like they are God's gift come to earth on skates, doesn't matter really which team, which is totally ridiculous of course. And I will add that if anything, colour guys here (outside of RDS of course, in which case you are under-exaggerating if anything) favour Toronto on an order of magnitude higher than any other teams.

Glad to see we managed to pull out a win tonight after the last game. We don't have all that much, but we should've won that one too. Ottawa is a good team, but light on the scoring end; the series could go either way though.

Post Re: The good ol' hockey game
So I start watching the Pens/Isles game and all I get is 1 highlight of the Habs/Sens game. I might have missed the other highlights cause the Sharks/Canucks started while the Pens/Isles were still playing so I had switched over but yeah...NBC's love for Crosby is pretty sad.
Sharks won in OT and the best part, Torres scores the GW. All my friends that hate Torres are now thinking "oh...he's alright afterall." It was a pretty sweet goal. I'm pretty happy right now...Habs win, Sharks win...then there are the other Bay Area teams like the Warriors going to round 2 in the NBA (yeah...I'm jumping on that band-wagon. I admit it.) and the Giants win (but really who cares since the season just started).
I think I want the Isles to win just so they can stick it in Crosby's face (came back for the playoffs and didn't get past round 1...eat it...through a straw)...but at the same time I don't want the Isles to advance cause Nabby is a *itch. I think he was quoted one time saying that he doesn't care for the Stanley Cup.

I was watching the Tor-Bos game and the commentators sounded a lot less excited than during the Habs' games... Still, game on in both series... Fun times!

WTF just happened in the Montreal vs Ottawa game at 7:04 of this period? I was jamming my head studying for a Bio exam on Cellular Respiration/Photosynthesis and I see 5 fights happened at that time? Was there a bench clearing brawl? Fuckkkk I missed it!

Yep, tempers are flaring. The Habs only had one line going at the end there. You didn't miss anything that exciting though; outside of the fights it was a pretty disappointing game. Bad calls on both sides, and bonehead plays all around by the Habs yet again.

The game to watch today was the Pens vs the Islanders. AS much as I loathe the Pens they NEVER lose in OT. You can almost always count on a Crosby goal or assist (if he's playing). I've just grown accustomed to being disappointed when the Pens are in OT. Have to hand it to the Islanders though, if they were playing any other team they'd be up 3 games to none or at least 2-1 by now. Glad Minnesota finally won today.
