Yeah, I guess that is it. I didn't realise it was a tee, because it looks pretty massive compared to the size of the silkscreen. Great work Corey!

Dang...I just checked his cafepress store and it looks like he's not offering it anymore. Of course, you could always PM him or contact him through the store to see if he could bring it back...

Still, he's got PLENTY of dope kaiju-toy-inspired gear available immediately!

This guy is another one of my favourite Marmit figures. Again, an early Vinyl Paradise one, which for me are some of the best Marmits made. Not only is the sculpt really amazing, on nice blue vinyl with excellent paint, but this guy is huge, topping out at just over a whopping 11 inches! :)

Image

The legs seem to be a bit wonky, as they aren't bent, but one is actually fairly longer than the other. Anybody else have this problem? I kind of like his akilter pose though.

Gotta agree with you about the Vinyl Paradise line, I too love the funky retro look on many of the sculpts. Here is the VP grey version of Jet Jaguar, perhaps not as "akilter" ... a hair dryer might be able straighten him up bit.

Ah, great to see the long lost grey brother. :) I have tried the hair dyer trick. It works to straighten the legs out, but since the whole piece itself seems somehow cut too short I don't think there is anything to do about it. As I am sure you know from yours, the joints on the legs are kind of odd, so it is hard to tell what is going on inside, but I couldn't easily pull it out anymore either.

^^^ I like the fact Jet Jaguar was the winning design for a contest Toho had in 1972 for fans to come up with a new hero for them to use.

A member of the public got to see their idea come to life on screen and then made into soft vinyl toys!

Size difference is explained by the larger scale Vinyl Paradise Mothra larva (red eye) being compared to the smaller scale Parababy Mothra adult. Both figures being an excellent addition to anyone's Marmit collection!

Definitely a fat ass, but I love this Gorosaurus sculpt none the less. The texture is fantastic.

Great find! I love the VP Gorosaurus in all his tubby glory. The little texturing nodules must have been some kind of pain to sculpt, but it sure makes it amazing.

Totally agree, great sculpt! That one is from the San Diego Comic Con release. This one is the original from 1999, what I refer to as Miami Vice with the nice pastel coloring.

Yes! The pastel colors on the original release are great. I was originally looking for that one, but was very happy to find the SDCC 2001 version.

Post Re: Random reasons why Marmit Rules
Whatever happened to the days of the Marmit SDCC exclusive? I might consider a plane ticket if more classic makers were still making the trip.

I'll confess a light preference towards the Miami Vice version - damn you, Zoo! Now I'm never going to get that out of my head! - but the US release is pretty excellent in it's own right. The darker palate catches the sculpts' details so differently, really making it look like a whole new toy.

Great grab, Paul!

I always thought this was a fun Godzilla sculpt from Marmit. The '65 Daisenso-Goji from Monster Zero. He kind of has that chunky stance like the Pretty Godzilla, and has the great VP texturing on him. There was a really nice blue version too I have been after but missed a few times.

^^^ Really beautiful coloring on him - I love the rusty look and those blue eyes really make him extra special.

Thanks! Yeah, even if he isn't my favourite version, I really like all the different shades of orange, red, and brown on this guy. It adds a lot of depth to the colour and works well with the textured detail.

Oh I agree. Such a simple design you would think, but of a fantastic character, and executed wonderfully. Great colours on the suit, I hadn't noticed the subtle accents before.
