I like the way they turned out. What was the asking price on these? They look like a lot of work.

Thanks for the coverage Andy! My comment had nothing to do with your subliminal photo skills.

What I meant to say it that one should not judge a toy based on pictures alone. Especially in this case, where the toy is highly detailed, behind glass with terrible lightling. It is just impossible to take a picture that does justice..

I didn't get to see those in person. I just stood outside that booth, observing.

I'm obviously a fan of Pus' paint jobs but I can unabashedly say that it really really works in this case. The Mecha is a metal robotic beast and Pus' HP techniques makes it look like rusty, beaten, oxidized iron. And as he does on the HP Cococroc teeth, he adds a bit of yellow at the base to give it extra realism.

For the new Mini Set, Hirota used marbled vinyl for the base. The subtle marbling makes them look rusty as well. In addition, the tower in the set was completely redone. It's now a tower that is partially destroyed and has Pus style stitching holding it together. Also, the Japanese characters say "Pushead". It also includes a bloody omake arm.

I agree about the paint application. I think it works with the sculpt in a similar way it did giving the Damnedron HP's that oil slick look.

I'd really like to see some good pic's of the mini set if any one has them. The pic's I'm seeing do not show the marbled vinyl. This sounds like a neat technique and would like to see this on one of the full size Mecha's.

I was also curious about this mini. It appears to be cast in clear vinyl painted on the inside and out...

Yup it's marbled. Different than the ones in the pack.

Congrats to all that picked up pieces or appreciate the style. Just not for me.

I tend to prefer brighter, sometimes unrealistic colors. Or homage colors. These are too realistic, gritty (at least from the photos), etc for my collection. Can't see how they would fit in.

Yeah, I have Trash Out ways but even those are bright and fit in. Yeah, I have some Gargamel camo stuff, but those just seem somewhat more abstract or playful.

These remind me of dark drab ultra-realistic Godzillas that don't do anything for me or Ashley Wood's robot stuff. Again, all cool, just doesn't fit in or not my focus.

I'll probably never be able to look at any of the Pus HPs in the same way :D

Oh boy!..I'm really hoping that becomes a alternative head sculpt for the Mecha.

If they make that head into an alternate for the Ju. The world might just end.

Congrats JORDAN23 for landing one of those sets! I really like that photo too
I don't know how I missed all of these PH releases, I was near the Toy Tokyo booth almost everyday! They were at Toy Tokyo right?.. Not that I could afford them but it would have been great to see them in person.
