The second photo book I made using iPhoto. Most of the images I saved from Yahoo Japan Auctions and other websites. [I made the book for myself, not for commercial purposes.] Printed by Apple in Japan - it's top quality!

I didn't even know that such a thing was possible, but I am [far] behind on the times. I love the idea, and love your book even more. I love the random selection of vintage stuff you have captured in it especially. This would definitely be something I am interested in. I always knew I ought to be saving more pics from YJA.

How much do Apple in Japan charge for a book like that? I have 1000s of saved photos and would love something like that.

Great looking little book :)
I heard about this a while ago but have no idea how much it would cost.

What was the minimum number of books they can print-up?

Do they care about the images being royalty-free or is that not an issue?

^^ All these questions and more. I was thinking what an excellent book we could 'commission' if it weren't an issue from all of the images from Skullbrain members hard drives. Moog's advert thread alone is a goldmine, but I would love one for vintage toys, and have no doubt a huge number of the vintage crowd on here would get in on one too.

^^ indeed.

I suppose the dimensions of the book would have to be kept fairly small though . . . because most images taken from the web are a bit low-res for printing.

Keeping the size small would help hide the fact the images are a lower resolution than normally needed.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, but from the scale of this one, it looks small (postcard sized maybe) so each individual image could be almost thumbnail size even, saving the better res pics for the full spreads.

Perhaps we could call this Moog III (presuming number two exists in some form....) :)
By Skulllbrainers, for Skullbrainers.

Cost is just over US$65 for this type of book (maybe prices vary from other countries, I'm located in Australia) The format is 6 x 8 inches and contains 100 pages (the number of pages you can have is between 20 to 100). Apple Printing is very quick! It arrived on my doorstep a few days after I sent the files via iPhoto.

You can order as few or as many as you like and copyright does not appear to be a problem!

Yes, that's why I opted for the small size book (large format books are available also). Even though over 50% of the images attracted a low-res warning code they printed out just fine. Even if a few of the images are not perfect it was no issue for me, I made the book to entertain myself and it was a lot of fun compiling and categorising the images. Also, it's true that having all these jpegs sitting on your hard drive can be easily overlooked. Having my favorite pics in a custom made book format is so much nicer !
