Hey guys, AS you know, i have a website ('Art Whore' - artwhorecult.com) were i post interviews with artists i like. Normally in the toy/pop-art sphere. ANYHOW, figured i'd post links to 'em here when new ones go up - Feel free to ignore em, hate on em, whatever.

Re: 'Art Whore' - Art Talk Series
Not trying to hate on what you do at all as I generally enjoy your interviews but that second paragraph has a few typos that take away from how professional your stuff usually comes off. Just a heads up.

Re: 'Art Whore' - Art Talk Series
No problem.
I really do find your stuff interesting. Such a huge range of personalities that are making toys which often end up grouped together at events or shows. It's funny how different so many of them are from one another. It occasionally makes me see certain toys differently then I did when I had no idea who was behind them. You have the people who are trying to sell themselves rather then their toys. People in genuine awe of other peoples work. People who think everyone else is garbage. The guys who are just having fun making shit they think is cool. Then the people trying to turn something they enjoy into a decent living. It's pretty cool really. Not saying any one way is right or wrong at all. Not my place to judge that stuff. Though I will admit after learning about the people behind certain brands I have bought stuff I wasn't in love with just to support them. And I have avoided stuff I really wanted for the opposite reason.

Re: 'Art Whore' - Art Talk Series
I enjoyed the interviews, they're fun enough. It does server to show, me at least, the mentality and somewhat stale state of the western movement in bootlegging toys/ new toy ventures. I'm not going to engage in the whole "is it art or not" debate, but I'm not very excited on the whole when it comes to what's cracking right now. If I where to say this is lowbrow, it's doing a god awful job at repeating itself. And if this indeed is an art-talk blog, I think you should be more direct to the makers and really get at why they are doing what they're doing. Otherwise, these are designed objects and nothing more. Nothing wrong with that, just far from art.
I do appreciate your effort and I'm actually looking forward to more from this. You got the chops, I just hope the position and accessibility will let you be more critical of these people and not just biographical as it has been.

I have thought about being more 'critical' and even writing some opinion pieces - thinking of writing one on the 'legality' of bootlegging. BUT i want to get a lot of interviews up my sleeve before i start doing that. Next year hopefully. Re: 'Art Whore' Art Talk Series - UPDATED - Pablo Perra
Great interview.
I really dislike the color of your layout though. That purple is just so hard to read that I usually highlight everything before I even try now. I have shared your site with a several other artists and a couple guys won't even read it because of the difficult purple text. Not saying you should change it all but it does make things difficult.

Re: 'Art Whore' Art Talk Series - UPDATED - Pablo Perra
^^^^ ...thanks for taking a look man! AND HUGE thanks for showing it round! ...too be honest, a hella lotta people have said the color choice is abhorrent. And whilst i am a stubborn bastard, i do listen to the people, so i will be changing the colors soon for reader ease. Promise. P.S - JUST put my 1st Fan Talk up as well... which is going to lead into Art Whore's blatant use of unpaid child labor. I'm an evil bastard like that...
