So many excellent factors in this homage Jeff. The broken model aspect of the spaceship, his surprise look at being spotted trashing it, mini GB munching away in the corner.

Many thanks! So fun to draw, although I was supposed to be picking up fallen branches & weeding the side of my house in preparation for a rock garden... too hot for that mess

"om nom nom, moon rocks, nom nom nom." fun drawing!

is greasebat able to travel through space without a ship or a suit? did he destroy that rocket on purpose? is he angry or embarrassed? so many stories packed into one frame.

Jeff, this is just wonderful. Really captures the spirit of adventure and wonder of the original. This would be awesome as a series of small homage prints.

Tintin and asterix were some of the first comics I ever read and I often wonder if those back covers with the display of all the various book covers is what fired up the very first Collecting impulse in me

Post Re: GREASEBAT
Thanks, I was considering a set of postcards, for a couple reasons- cheap & easy to make, everything looks great shrunken down... But I have a couple Tintin serigraph / silk screened posters that I love, so I may look into a small run of medium size posters.

I thoroughly enjoyed drawing this and coloring it. When I was in elementary school me and my friend checked out a couple Tintin books over & over. At the end of the year they were all beat up, so the library teacher gave them to us (thanks!) and I treasured the one I had, Flight 714, for years. They were pretty hard to come by in the USA.

So later when I worked in a comic store one of the guys there ordered the books for me, and I was in Heaven. I love Herge's style, color palette and the research he did for his illustrations.

Anyways, I'm glad you guys like it ! I can't wait to draw more....

^^^ Totally . . . i love Tintin parodies and that one is great.

Nice work :)

Tintin and Asterix were really big in my house when i was growing-up. I've been reading them pretty much all my life.

Post Re: GREASEBAT
Asterix, I bought one of them once, I need to give it a try again. If I get some free time today I want to work on the companion issue to this one, Destination Moon. Although that scaffolding looks like a giant pain to draw!

I have this Greasebat sort of storyline in my head (and on paper) that I proposed to somebody with great success recently. The two guys on my cover here are obviously not Herge characters, so I'm trying to incorporate them into the art. Mini-Greasebat is a fitting substitute for Snowy!

Anyways, thanks MOOG !

Thanks, glad you like it! I'm still loving the ugly little guy.

Turns out the Tintin images will be printed up by Clutter mag sometime soon. I'm hoping for a high quality image about twice the size of the actual covers.

Shipping is a killer though. Here's hoping a north american store picks this up.

Yeeouch! That's outrageous.

I'll look into him sending me a bunch for sale in the US, at cheapo shipping.

I just assumed these would be strictly a UK thing, since they are based on oyster travel cards for the underground. I didn't foresee that anyone in the US would want one.

There's a joke here but I'm too lazy this morning to look for it.

^ ha!

by the way, kirby had them officially listed as "customs" on the catalog/sale sheet. i guess he didn't want to risk "rub one-off" either?
