its a shame folks coming to skullbrain these days spending 3 times retail on all that wannabe kaiju
hyped up in the american idols section and toys designed, sculpted, produced and painted in japan
(by japanese) dont get much interest any longer ...even at retail.

congrats badteethcomics, great pickup. loving this colorway!!!

I don't think it's that there's anything wrong with RxH(there isn't), more that he's got his own formulated opinion and taste on what he does and doesn't find aesthetically pleasing. Much like your distaste for the over hyped toys in the American Idols section.

Umm, sorry, 80% of my kaiju collection is composed of toys designed, sculpted, produced and painted in Japan. Those are the artists that attracted me to the hobby in the first place. And the "American Idols" that I collect are every bit as talented and collaborate with makers like RxH, so go pass judgement somewhere else. I was giving badteethcomics a compliment on his awesome toy.

He recently did a kickstarter that was fully funded and then some for a 2nd hardcover compilation. It had a short new FC story in it.

Yeah, it was a lot more than I thought. Probably jacked my shipping up a lot... But hey, the lot was cheap! The plan was to display some and have the kids play with most. They've already started playing with them, so who knows what happens... I have dozens and dozens of the gacha SDs (first toys I collected, back in the day). They love those as well.

I'm partial to the clear ones and the minis myself... And with the Sunshines, of course!

Those clear ones are nifty! They almost look eatable! :P
I suppose you could use the extras as stocking stuffers or mini fun bags...

Print on 8.5x11 size page, then cut out, fold in half, tape the edges, then instant fun bags! Each page contains 2 sizes of fun bags :P

That'd be fun! If only it didn't imply way more time than I have! Plus, I really don't know anyone who'd be interested...

Ha! Well if you have a flock of uncontrollable and very excitable kids, perhaps it's worth the time and energy to make the bags and hide them all over the house. ...or perhaps you could hypnotize the grown ups to do it for you. A Christmas toy hunt would keep them occupied for a bit... Or, maybe as party favors? I guess us crafty gals are too DIY for you boys

That's a beaut. I'm obsessed with RxH right now. I wasn't really into the designs until I saw them in person at Rotofugi back when. It's funny what seeing the figure in person will do. I was struck by the scale of them. I think I had been expecting the smaller figures and couldn't believe how large they looked in comparison to everything else on the shelf.

skullbrain has been open for all kind of toys ever since,
whether its simpsons, blythe dolls collections, etc.

id wish more folks would just collect what they like,
buying the latest hyped up "toys of the month"
seems to be the exact opposite to me.

And I fully agree with you on that point. I'm just not seeing where you seem to think he's into overhyped toys, simply because he mentioned not being a RxH fan, that's all.
