Re: The "What You Got In The Mail That Isn't A Vinyl Toy" Th
Yep, and shipping wasn't bad...3.75 or something so $18.75 total. I will tell you that I am not at all impressed with the physical production of this vinyl. Lots of sharp edges or little tag areas, and there's a significant spot on the non-guts side toward the center where the yellow printed color is messed up...maybe hand painted blemish cover up? I haven't played it yet but I just saw a few scratches and what looks like writing indentations on playable areas?!? So I would proceed with caution! I got it mostly for display so I'm not too worried but overall it seems like a piece of shit though still a very cool looking piece of shit I will let you know about it's playability after I listen to it tonight.

MonstaIslandCzar wrote: I will let you know about it's playability after I listen to it tonight. Much appreciated, Ben. Sounds like cruddy quality control Although after reading the description on Stones Throw's website, maybe the shady quality shouldn't be so surprising Check it.. "On the crime-infested east side of Lost Gates CA, there is a vinyl pressing plant whose brochure says, "will do anything for a price." Back in the 70s & 80s, they specialized in private press porno soundtracks, but these days Madlib is their only customer. " analog101 wrote: Accesshiphop in San Diego has them for in store and mail order too. Man...I haven't been to Access in a while. I have to go to La Jolla later in the week too, maybe I should drop by. Thanks for the heads up !

Well both sides/tracks played smoothly so my only real complaints are the paint smudge (I may try to take a pic) and the very rough cut job around the edges. Otherwise I say go for it even as a badass lord quas piece of art for that price!
Nice find Erik, that's some shady but funny shit!
And it looks like you may save a buck or two by going through the link analog posted

Wow - talk about blast from the past! That was one of the first message boards I was ever involved with. I just tried logging in and my account is still active after all these years! I even had two PMs from 2008 - several years after I stopped posting there.

When I was really into indy rap back in my college days almost every music purchase I made was either direct from artist, or from access mail order. It seems like a lot of the other indy rap stores folded over time, so it's nice to see them still open. They still have their tape section going strong too, which makes me happy, as well.

I got home from work the other day to discover a package containing this birthday gift. It really took me by surprise because my birthday was last month, and I KNOW when a package is on the way lol Apparently, a very good friend of mine rescued Mr. Coogan here from the Goodwill If you don't know this character, watch the movie Freaked. You'll thank me later

Re: The "What You Got In The Mail That Isn't A Vinyl Toy" Th
Mr. Coogan is creepy awesome. That is a good friend there to give such a great birthday gift. Sadly, my friends don't get the toys things or my true interests (folklore and myth and monsters) and when they try, it is generally way way off base (my mother in law keeps giving me fairy sculptures and seems to think that is what I am into even when I tactfully try to steer her along a slightly darker route....if fairies, at least make them scary like true fairies from folklore).
Love his face!
