Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
^ Love it ! I need to rep Doraemon on the shelves at some point. Lulubell had this little Tomy Yokai listed as part of the GeGeGe crew , but I thought Tomy just did a series of five 'generic' figures....no?

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
^^ They did 6 standard releases of Yokai . . . but they also did a few festival exclusive ones that are much, much harder to find. I've never managed to grab them. They are always too expensive or go too quick. I think a few of these are very similar to the larger vintage Nitto figures. . . . . and yeah, Hitotsume Kozo you have there is not exclusive to GeGeGe no Kitaro. The standard Tomy releases: Here's someone else's photo including the festival exclusives: Tomy also did these 3 Daimajin in the same size that totally rule too . . .

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
Seems like at least once a year this discussion goes on in this thread, ha! I love those little shrinkies. A little further clarification - The Tomy series is of characters that they licensed from two film series that Daiei made in the late sixties: Daimajin and Yokai Monsters. All six films should be required viewing for membership at SB, in my opinion. Several of the minis are shrink-downs of or tributes to toys that were originally produced by Nitto, and a couple are variations on old Marusans. Fun layers of history, no? CT Mike covered the first two Daiei runs on his site: o http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemL ... entID=2185http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemL ... entID=2187He also gave a little space to the five original Nittos: http://clubtokyo.org/listings/subCatLis ... bCatID=104More info? http://www.amazing-toy.com/no.7.htmturtletooth started a nice little Yokai toy thread here: http://www.skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic. ... 44#p386644dukuroking made one that's just about the Tomys: http://www.skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=36266o Nice pair, michael!
