Marvel's came first. I believe the Japanese company then bought the rights to Wall Crawler and gave him a robot to ride in, so he'd fit in.

I highly recommend the SoC Leopardon. You get the Leopardon robot (which transforms into ship mode), a vinyl Spiderman that fits in with the other Soul of Sofubi Kamen Rider/Tokusatsu figures, a Hot Wheels/Charawheels size diecast Spidercar, and a stand with a tiny little Spiderman in scale with the Leopardon. Very satisfying.

spiderman started in the early 60's. if you watch the opening sequence on YouTUbe (link above) there is a marvel trademark. The spiderman fig is a special release in the sofubi damashi series which is the same scale as other mass market bandai figs.

There is also a Popy 5" diecast, a 10" DX diecast, a 2.5" mini die-cast, a 4" vinyl, and an 8" vinyl from the vintage series if memory serves me correctly. The show was made in 1978 I believe.

Post Supaidaaman
Supaidaaman!!!!! Great Japanese series, highly recommended!
these are bad photos of a great Popy set I have. The figures are mint unplayed with but my box is beat to hell, the box is on my list of restoration projects. This popy set included their fantastic styled version of Supaidaaman which is 5 inches tall, the flying race car aka Spider Machine GP-7 & and the Marveller turnes giant robot ally, Leopardon. ( Skullwing thrown in for good measure HA! )

Back of Popy box.

What region dvd is this? I saw some of this series a few months back online (I think someone posted a link here) and have been wanting to add it to my cheezy dvd collection ever since.

The reissue box I think he's talking about is the Soul of Chogokin Leopardon diecast figure. The DVD box is a Toei release eight dvd box from last December and I cant remember what I paid for it but it was around 400.00 US. It didnt have any figures that came with it though.
