Great release all around - jealous of the lucky super-quick clickers. I was hoping for a GID Mockpilot but was too slow.

What is deal with bigcartel setup when you see an add button (not saying s/o yet) and click it and it then rapidly tells you "adding to card" / "added to cart" but then your cart is still empty? Does that have something to do with the other buyers who have items in cart but haven't completed process yet? I'd never seen it before (just the notification that other shoppers had items and to check back in 10 minutes) and was momentarily excited, thinking I'd gotten one, but then bummed out when there was nothing in my cart to purchase. Just curious.

the add button wont change if youre just refreshing the page
when you try to add to cart it will say s/o (unless youre the chosen one)

Bear in mind there were 2 Mockpilots released...
Tried for the GiD one, and yes it went to sold out (not just held in carts) in about a minute.
The flesh Pilot was a different story, that one got held cart hostage for a while and took a few minutes before showing as sold out.

After having this happen a few times I've noticed a pattern to it.
The false "added to cart" notification seems to be a BigCartel glitch that happens during the split-second an item changes from available to sold out.

See if this is the case next time it happens (I can almost guarantee it will be):
Get the "added" notification, Click on your cart and it'll be empty.
When you go back to the listing, the item will then be showing as sold out.

^ That's right ... it's a glitch when the item goes to sold out status ...Happened to me twice before.
And one time item actually showed up in my cart ( asked for country & gave shipping rates), but Paypal wouldn't let me check out .... can't win for losing :P

No luck on any of these either - really hoped for the flesh Mockpilot. Too slow again.

But congrats to the winners ...

Sam, are you saying the Mockpilots were one offs? I was able to grab a flesh one.

No, that was just for clarification's sake. Wasn't sure which Pilot was being referred to in the above comments, as there were 2 different kinds...

Congrats on the score Bo. Had a bit of unexpected success with one of the earlier drops after hitting add to cart like a mad man... pretty stoked to say the least

Thanks for clarification - I figured as much but just wanted to make sure there wasn't some weird "open secret workaround" I didn't know about - ha ha.

Is it a "glitch" in big cartel or is it the fact that 500+ plus people are all trying to buy a very liimited item all at once?

I have zero clue how the website works but I can assume that a lot of stuff can go awry when everyone starts pushing all the buttons at once.

It's all in the "conspiracy settings" Bryce.

if people have questions, ask Big Cartel. I do my best on my end.

Big Cartel is working MUCH better than Limited Run!
That was one big mess.

I didn't mean "glitch" in a bad / conspiracy way.

It's just the system catching up to all the frantic button mashing .

The true "glitch" is = I'm too slow :P

This Slugbeard immediately landed a spot on my favorite toys list. Beyond stoked to have landed one.

PK's choice of paint colors compliments the milky purple vinyl perfectly. Pics just don't give justice to the mind-bending paint app on this fella...

^ I think you maybe meant something like that? ;) And to that question, yes, he's done sets before. The Mystery Date Boss Carrion sets spring to mind.
