HoOoly shit! Those tanks!! I'm sure I'm in the minority but I'm more stoked on the micros and the tanks myself.. The big guy is cool, but for some reason isn't doing it for me.

The big guys are stunning but is it just me that thinks the price is mental?

Re: ILU ILU Neo Gorilla, Tokio, Görz, & Other! Database 1st
The price tag did bum me out. He does put crazy attention and detail into the figures and packaging, but the last Gorz release was $195, so the price may seem about right. Doesn't stop me from being kinda disappointed I cant just pick up a set of the micros and tanks. I love iluilu I just don't love the wait trying to find affordable pieces! Patience game..

Amazing but of course expected as ilu ilu never disappoints and super curious as to the size of the big guy (seems larger than Neo Gorilla / Gorz but his sculpts are always surprising when it comes to height).

The big figure is 190MM, or roughly 7 1/2 inches.

Looks awesome but this design seems a little out of place in vinyl for me. I prefer my vinyl robots to be a little more goofy.

Those big bolts on either side of his helmet are pretty goofy looking to me.
Though by the shape of it, I definitely see the nod to Red Baron, Jeeg, etc...
I look forward to seeing pics underneath the larger robots' chest plates, where I suspect you put smaller robot(s).

It's more of a homage to Combattler V. Maybe even Voltes V.

Ahhh, absolutely.
Even the name.
Good call.

Re: ILU ILU Neo Gorilla, Tokio, Görz, & Other! Database 1st
There is definitely a strong Diaclone influence in there as well. Perhaps Microman as well, looking more at the box design.
Strikes me as more 80s real robot than 70s super robot. But even those two genres are more of a gradient.

Re: ILU ILU Neo Gorilla, Tokio, Görz, & Other! Database 1st
I'm guessing 12-14 pieces. Plus a completely dailed in box. Expensive but worth it. I can't play right now, but will find a way to get this beast. As a toy maker of very "folk" talents I like looking for tiny flaws when I get them. Something along the lines of "The wall can be cracked. This is not perfect" It drives me insane how good his toys and packaging are. Even if i could dedicate the time to a single release, I still wouldn't be able to pull it off on this level. I get an immense amount of excitement, jealousy, and desire to do more/better stronger cleverer faster when i see these releases.

I've always admired Ilu Ilu's work, but this is the first toy of theirs that I really want to track down. Amazing.

12-14 pieces, meaning "parts", not the run. I don't know how many he makes of each vinyl. My wild ballpark guess would be 40 of each colorway. I'm sure somebody here knows actual numbers.

I wonder what goes in the right fist. Sure looks like it's designed to hold something...

Whoa, I've never really gotten into robots or chogokin, but that guy is cool! The whole package is just amazing, mind blowing execution.

I'm counting twelve different pieces. I hope it has some kind of weapon for the one hand.

Re: ILU ILU Neo Gorilla, Tokio, Görz, & Other! Database 1st
Well these certainly rock. Not my style per se but they would still look great displayed with other Ilu toys. Would love to hold a 7.5 inch Ilu toy, everything done by him to date has been around five inches or less, so this bigger form factor should be really impressive.
Price is high but the time and effort that goes into pulling something like this off is probably mind blowing. I love the packaging, but prefer the plastic Ilu tubes, etc. over the cardboard...Gorz boxes are incredible but VERY fragile. Plastic packaging wouldn't jive with this release though.
Anyone know who pulls the vinyl?

These are amazing. Ilu Ilu are on a whole different course. Wish I could get that teal blue one.

Every time you use the word 'amazing' to describe a new toy, the aftermarket price goes up by 5,000 yen.
