Re: A Nag Pa I Root (NAGNAGNAG)
Yeah at this point Ive totally lost all interest in collecting NAG3 stuff. Its just to much and all the new designs, as nicely sculpted as they are, arent going anywhere new ( zombie again). LOVE the textures and paints, but its just not for me anymore. I remember getting the Frankenrouge original for what I remeber being $200 or $250.00 which I think is just fine. But at 400.00 just for a head, this has become stupid.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root (NAGNAGNAG)
Someone correct me if im wrong but werent nagballs at nycc 2rs ago $400? Ive even heard $500 before. They were one offs i think and this is a run but its consistent with other nag pricing: his online runs cost the same as the one offs sold in the US at events ($850 vs 85,000). Only difference is the exchange rate which makes this nagball only $330 compared to $300-500 at US events. I feel like this has been the pricing for easily 3 years? Yes, its absurd but not new. Can anyone chime in on the nagball released at hyperstoic/nycc last year?

Re: A Nag Pa I Root (NAGNAGNAG)
^^ No, but I'll say that the very first one-offs were priced at 10,000Yen. Then again, with everything this "scene" has become over the last few years one can hardly blame the makers for taking advantage of "collectors" that are oh so very eager to overspend.

Congrats to nag making it into kaiju superstardom though. The og nags still look best after all these years.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root (NAGNAGNAG)
I'll keep the Nags I got before it became art, but I know I will never add any other anymore to my collection. I like the new zombi sculpt though. Not original, but nicely done.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root (NAGNAGNAG)
This is a completely crazy idea which I'm sure will get shot down but it seems like something like this would cause complete anarchy within the scene which would be pretty funny and seems like a real Nag style move to pull.. Just sell some blanks with no headers for $100 a pop.. open pre-order, flat colour.. heck even marbled if you're feeling generous. Surely at least 150 would sell and that's $15,000 (which I assume would still have a large chunk of profit in there for Shig) - would be a pretty 'punk' move if you ask me.. ..but also I just want a chance to have one of these guys on my shelf and it is a completely selfish idea

Re: A Nag Pa I Root (NAGNAGNAG)
Yes, the idea of an open, or near-open, run of Nag blanks has been tossed out for almost as long as the toys have been around. Given their 'art' status I cannot see that happening. Though it would be worthwhile just to see what it would do to the underpants of those in this "scene."

Re: A Nag Pa I Root (NAGNAGNAG)
It would be chaos!! I don't want it to come off as disrespectful or undervaluing the work put into the Nag toys but if it's blank and it's from a mold that is already produced like the first Nag sculpt then it could work out as being both affordable for fans and worthwhile for Shig in the sense that he gets financial return for the release. I can see how it comes off as a shitty thing on my part to suggest the idea or even ask for open pre-orders from a maker but seriously fuck paying $1000 for a vinyl toy no matter how long the eyes take to paint

Older and wiser these days but I've become pretty loyal to the people and companies that continue to make fun toys and make it economical for the fans. It doesn't diminish anything. I still geek out at buying a 35 dollar toy from Gargamel or PK. The reality is that they all sit on a shelf.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root (NAGNAGNAG)
The only thing "punk" about Nags for a while now are Ben's artistic statements concerning the whole debacle; don't make me re-post that video AGAIN. Also completely agree with Bryce - best four toys I bought last year cost me 20,000Yen, shipping included (try making that point to a "normal" person not into Japanese vinyl toys).

If you place your mouse and click on the zzzzz's when they bend it brings you to another site to enter for a new Nag release only for 10,000 yen like the old days. Click away!

On the contrary, Japanese collectors are going coo-coo for Kaiju again, events are jumping, all types of cool new toys are coming out even if they don't get airwave here. Maybe SB and Nag are in a slump, I'd say Kaiju is at a 10 year high.

I heard that if you click each 'z' in the right combination it will unlock a lottery page to purchase a severed Nag penis for 1,000,000yen
