When I saw Bemon, I absolutely loved it. I didn't know any better that I thought the price was a genuine mistake, like someone put the decimal place in the wrong spot.

$1000 for any vinyl that isn't the size of a 6 year old is insanity to me

I'd trade a six-xear-old for a Bemon anytime.

Yeah at this point Ive totally lost all interest in collecting NAG3 stuff. Its just to much and all the new designs, as nicely sculpted as they are, arent going anywhere new ( zombie again). LOVE the textures and paints, but its just not for me anymore. I remember getting the Frankenrouge original for what I remeber being $200 or $250.00 which I think is just fine. But at 400.00 just for a head, this has become stupid.

Hey Rich, if you talk about the price, it's difficult to say if a piece of vinyl is cheap or expensive from an objective view, it just depends on the market and what people wants.

By the way, honestly, I don't think you are in the position of talking about originality, since your last creations look really the same of others Japanese artist's sculpt: the new robo-gorilla = gorilla ju, the troll = boryokugenjin, toxigon = nagball + re-bustron + kaithunder, etc...
Even your brand name, as everybody knows, is a mixture of mutant chaos (real head) and soft vinyl hardcore (bemon).

The only thing "punk" about Nags for a while now are Ben's artistic statements concerning the whole debacle; don't make me re-post that video AGAIN. Also completely agree with Bryce - best four toys I bought last year cost me 20,000Yen, shipping included (try making that point to a "normal" person not into Japanese vinyl toys).

Best three toys I bought last year all cost me under $100 a pop. I don't care for the Nag design or the fucktards associated with it... none of em. But I must say I do like that new head sculpt zombie-type-thing. But I would never pay what people "think" they are worth. I can literally (and do) buy works of art for less money and I know they aren't going to ass rape me down the line like these figures do. Maybe COOP can chime in

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and generally free to express the same, but I wouldn't say that that is an even close to fair assessment. Forget the whole Nag culture and its respective drama, you can't really attack an artist's work as derivative or unoriginal without more clear examples than that. Rich doesn't need me (or anyone) defending him, but those examples to me seem anything but evident. Any 'mecha' ape is not a variation of the specific HxS Ju figure - as much as I love his work, he cannot claim ownership over creative license of that type of creature; it was around long before him, and if anything these Japanese artists, and their American/foreign counterparts, are all paying hommage to the originals. By extension none is of greater value than any other. I do not see the thread linking the designs you mentioned - as for the name, that is really reaching - but in any vinyl toys of monsters you will be able to see tributes/connections to other toys, that is because the history of kaiju is so storied. You can draw comparison in that same way to any toy you might see on Skullbrain. Anyways, you shared your thoughts and I have done the same.

// Now back to your regularly scheduled Nag ridiculousness.

Alas, I have tried to forget it.

Sure, I guess if you disregard the Marusan connection, then that is the height of creativity. I stand corrected Bryce. :P It's really a shame we don't have more excellent customisers on here like that. Oh wait.....

Someone correct me if im wrong but werent nagballs at nycc 2rs ago $400? Ive even heard $500 before. They were one offs i think and this is a run but its consistent with other nag pricing: his online runs cost the same as the one offs sold in the US at events ($850 vs 85,000). Only difference is the exchange rate which makes this nagball only $330 compared to $300-500 at US events. I feel like this has been the pricing for easily 3 years? Yes, its absurd but not new. Can anyone chime in on the nagball released at hyperstoic/nycc last year?

nagballs raffled at Mishka were $400 i believe, and 5 of each? 2 colorways...

The nagball at Hyperstoic was up there in price too, to me it was worth it. you have to see that in person to appreciate it.

Im sad i didnt keep up on this, I would of liked a shot at this one, it looked nice to me.

I liked when he took weeks to paint eyes. Those dots? Meh. He's definitely let production standards slide.

I saw that too.. It looked like a more detailed revamped OG Boryoku Genjin. I honestly didn't find it that appealing at first glimpse but eh, we'll see.

Also Johnnys wife posted a pic and was gone the next day..

Maybe, they weren't supposed to post pics yet?

Although the lips definitely appeared to be 30% larger!
