Love the tear drop tat he's got going on The marbling effects on these are particularly sick because they really play up the sludge-ness.

I think what I love about the marbling effect in general is how it makes every single piece in the same run entirely unique. I have a summer sludgie with a TON of red glitter effect and very little glow, but I've seen the exact opposite around here with some people whose sludgies damn near glow from space. Just out of curiosity for everyone: when you get a marbled piece, are you hoping for more of X or Y color distribution in certain areas or are you fine with whatever?

Before I knew that you could somewhat control the placement of the marbling, I would have said that I'd want even distribution throughout (without it getting muddy), sort of like camouflage. But now I'm all about applying the marbling where it would be most effective. For example, I think some of the gid marbled Zollmen Mazas from a year or two back were most successful at utilizing marbling to highlight and add cool extra functionality to the toy by applying most of the glow to the hands and eyes.

Can you control the marble effect on single pieces like a sludge? I thought it was giant vat of different vinyl so it was basically 100% random.

Re: MVH Doji San and DX Slugde Demons
It seems to me there was some effort to control the marbling ...
Mine was more glow & less red glitter + baby blue. The main body of the figure was GID .. Others seem to have red glitter or blue as the main body color = that couldn't be just random chance?
I also seem to remember reading somewhere ( MVH instagram ?) that there were "3" versions (GID , RG + BLUE) , so that does imply some control over the process ...

Re: MVH Doji San and DX Slugde Demons
Yes he said three different versions. I think u can control the order and the amount per pour but then its up To fate how they mix and settle

Re: MVH Doji San and DX Slugde Demons
I hope we get more marbling for this coming year with the Sludge Demon. I cant get enough of how cool these look. Each piece has there own unique look.
Id also love to see some marbling for some of the larger figures from MVH as well one day.

Sure, I'd greatly prefer a paint job by Rich 99.9% of the time, but if the blanks are easier to score I'd have no problem sending them out for customization to a variety of artists. Might cost a bit more in the long run, but totally worth it IMO.

Re: MVH Doji San and DX Slugde Demons
Vinyl pours are typically pored at random, and in a variety. There can be a certain degree of technique to each pour and where it goes, I think. But I'd find it relatively difficult to actually control the pours, though I'm sure it can be done to an extent. Shirahama's 50/50 Jijyo is a pretty good example.

Re: MVH Doji San and DX Slugde Demons
Rich choosing to make the drop time random really made a difference and helped keep the bots from scoring. I was actually able to add a sludge demon to my cart (but my Paypal was screwed up and wouldn't complete the order, oh well). Congrats to those who scored. F*ck the bots. Thanks Rich

I know allot of ppl are bummed about the lucky bags that only swear to the larger figures for collecting but the sludge's are seriously some beautiful work.
