Thanks Laura.
The more I collect Cronic's work, the greater my appreciation grows for his artistry. Seeing a lot of pieces together is really something, especially under strong lights or natural light. I'm glad I have finally been able to put together a half decent set up, though I might add more lights to the cabinet. (Some time over the next month, I might put up pics of the rest of the contents - there are 6 shelves total - all kaiju).
Incidentally, next month's Playtimes will feature my column on Cronic. As far as I know, it's the first article on his work to appear in an English periodical. If it isn't, and folks know of others, please let me know. I'd love to check them out!

The next time you talk to Cronic, please beg him to put out an unpainted glow in the dark Maverasu!!!! And make it easy to acquire!
That six armed beast deserves to be immortalized in GID vinyl

Cronic is becoming one of my favorites next to Gargamel! I would like to see a clear blue Dorogami!

I just love that they're virtually all clear. A large set of clear vinyls will always look amazing together.

A GID Mav and more clear Dorogami would be nice! I *think* there are a couple of GID Zyurai Asu's out there. I know there are several off-white versions, including a couple of pinstripes. but I'm not 100% sure if they're GID. Ah, but I am sure that at least two out of three of the clear Zyurai's filled with pipes do glow.
BTW, the clear amber Dorogami is insanely nice! I'd have to do an outside photo shoot to do most of these figures justice!
We've seen a number of Mav/Zyurai sets with matching color/paint schemes. What I'd like to see now are matching sets of all four figures. Not sure if it's going to happen soon, since Cronic does all the work himself.
A bit of Cronic info. His background is in architecture, and he's been toy designing for 2 years. I'd say he's come a long way in a very short period of time!

I have an unpainted Zyurai Asu pic below (pic is from Mandarake. This is where I got mine from)
But he's got to make a Mav. I love that sculpt.

I was just informed that Playtimes is moving to a bimonthly publication schedule. The next issue (with my Cronic article) is scheduled to be released in January. I just received a PDF of the column's layout. It looks great and is 8 pages long, including dozens of photos, many of which were sent to me by Cronic.
BTW, I believe Cronic is planning to release some new figures next month.

Thanks Lee.
You know I just realized that Mark Chang, one of my favorite Taiwanese artists (designer of SoWhat), also has a background in architecture. Go figure!

Andy -
Good to see you have kept collecting what you like rather than what is deemed worthy by the masses. I seem to recall you posting your Cronic stuff a year ago & getting alot of crap about it from people that are now jumping on the Cronic bandwagon.

Late on seeing this post, but all those Cronic look great together. I had to draw the line and stick with SB, Gargamel and RxH when it comes to fight figures - but these look great.

Thanks guys. Sorry the pics don't really do these figures justice.
About buying Cronic in Tokyo, I did some searching a few months ago, and it was tough. You might find a few here and there. A few shops in Nakano had a couple of pieces. That was about it. Almost everything Cronic releases is in small numbers, since he does all the painting and packaging himself, so there aren't that many of anything out there.
From what I hear, at shows these days, his stuff sells out very quickly.

Congrats on the article, creaturion. I'm wondering about the multi-colored translucent ones like these:
How is the multicolor effect done, with different types of vinyl in the mold, or dye dips, or airbrushed paint?
