Only caught one episode of the latest season, but just have to say still so good to have some R&M to ingest in my life once again.
IDK. Huge fan but the overtly sexual stuff bores me. Like the Claw and Horder episode. So far season 5 is a yawn fest. Is it geared towards pubescent kids?
Okay that was the worst episode ever. Edit - I think for me part of it is the odd character evolution. The dynamic between Rick being utterly insane and unconcerned with life in general and Morty being a decent kind little kid was always incredibly interesting and funny. It had balance and the moments when either one would lean more towards the other always had impact. This season Morty is way too Rick like. There doesn't seem to be any balance at all. Everyone is an asshole now. It's like a sci-fi Beavis and Butthead.
When a show gets picked up for 70 episodes it has a lot less need for those episodes to be good. I'm not saying the pick up wasn't well earned and deserved, just saying it's not the norm for most shows with a 10-12 episode season.
Don't get the hate for the "dragon episode" from all you sexually repressed dracophobes, but yeah last one was really shit.
Didn't find the Thanksgiving episode super funny, but did find it very entertaining. Only thing I didn't like was the line about how FDR became a spider monster due to being a test subject for Salk's polio vaccine. Last thing the world needs right now is more vaccine misinformation, even from a clearly nonsense cartoon.
I think every time they do these Rick vs. The President episodes they seem to fizzle out. To me, this show is one of the few places where you can make a joke about vaccines. Next week's episode is very good. Golion meets Goodfellas.
I'm a few behind ... i just watched the episode with the machine that sucks-off horses. Have to say, i'm beginning to think they've run out of ideas. Its reminding me of the second season of Solar Opposites, where they seem to be pushing sexual stuff / swearing a lot more, just to be edgy.
I've grown tired of Justin Roiland's humor so watching Rick and Morty just turned into pulling teeth for me. Sad to say, but the first season was nice.
I enjoy d this first episode of the new season was better than most from the last 2-3 seasons; but I’d say it’s manly Dan Harman’s humor I’m growing tired of… I’m all for satire, but it’s become too meta, too ridiculous, too dark, too “smart” and a lot of times too gross and sexual to be enjoyable. Pick a lane already Rick and Morty.
Watched the premiere. Again, I feel this show is at its worst when they try and build some ongoing emotional story with the characters. To me it falls totally flat. Stick to the silly one-off episodes.
this. Exactly this. The newest episode started and I had completely forgot how Rick and morty had got in the situation they were in and what was going. I just random dumb adventures with silly improvised scripts.
What I wouldn't give to hear Christopher Lloyd telling Michael J Fox to shove that seed up his ass. "You gotta do it for your Grandpa, Morty!"
