Five Points Festival - 2020

They sent out an e - mail stating they’re working on trying to secure a concrete later - date by next week(sounds like high hopes on their end, which I don’t blame them) to reschedule. So no actual cancellation that I’ve seen, as opposed to “we’re still trying to make this happen”. I’m sure if you rang them for a refund they’d oblige, or perhaps they’re awaiting a possible date or serious cancellation before openly stating they’ll refund attendees. But I doubt they’d just hang onto people’s monies and tell you you’re shit out of luck.

 

I certainly didnt mean to make it sound like they are crooks, only that the tickets were very expensive and the degree of uncertainty over the next six months is very high.

 

Any other action would have been completely irresponsible but still a shame.

 

Apparently so. If anything they should allow either option. With no specific date set- guarantee a lot of people won't be able to make it now. For those that can still take the time off and want their ticket to be honored, so be it. Tickets aren't cheap plus count the lodging, food, travel expenses, etc....- for those that want a refund they should be giving them to said people. Im sure they're just trying to figure the whole deal out still

 

I requested and received a refund from their team, for anyone interested.

Has anyone seen anything from Clutter Magazine about Five Points Fest since the March 28 email? Any posts or comments on social media about it? The possibility of doing it later in the year seems unlikely, but that email implied that there was going to be a follow-up from them in a couple of weeks. I've seen posts about exclusive toys they've been selling, and gallery events that were cancelled, but nothing about the show.

Rampage toys is also holding a "virtual booth" on Friday where you can hang out with Jon. Glad we're getting some semblance of normal even if it isn't ideal.

Pretty incredible concept, just a huge xmas style day.

really wish I could see people in NYC today but, the world is sick on fire.

 

Yah, me too, I was really looking forward to it. Hopefully next year.

 

I’m definitely bummed! Was majorly lookin’ forward to spend in’ time in the city with good friends, seein’ good peoples in the convention and snap some shots of some very, very happy collectors while we all geek out. I’ll be missin’ the coffee and pizza of NY, as well. But there’ll be continued events when the time is right! Super rad of them to have the virtual fest, though. Still a pretty big somethin’ for intended attendees.

 

Did anyone end up getting their VIP exclusive? I was asked for my address in September and now it's just radio silence.

 

Glad I got my money back.
