Five Points Festival - 2020

Anyone ever been to the Five Points Festival?

I'm nervous about shelling out the money to pop in if it's gonna be a sea of kidrobot.

 

I bought tickets. Even if it is a wash, it sounds like a fun day with my wife.

Lulubell and Super7 were both attending from what I read.

I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces from here and on IG.

 

It's the first show. It's more than just toys and sounds kind of cool. Kinda far for me but probably worth it if you're local.

 

It's being put together by Clutter and they are no stranger to the world of sofubi. Lulubell and Super7 are supposed to be there as well AND Bwana just announced he'll be there with some artist friends (maybe sofubi makers?). So it does look like there will be at least some soft vinyl. I live further out on Long Island and I'd be there for sure, but unfortunately I"ll be in Bermuda that week

A collector of kaiju toys? Five Points will offer online lottery tickets to purchase limited pieces from our kaiju guests. The Five Points kaiju lottery will open in early 2017, and you must have a Five Points ticket to take part.

Hmm. Wonder what that means!

Strongly considering it! Probably going to have to buy the weekend pass in case one of the days is a migraine day. Thank goodness it's a two day event. I hope it'll be warm by then too!

 

Fuck that. People should be in attendance to get lotto tickets. I think it's kind of scummy, that they want to buy a ticket just so you can enter the lottos, again you should be there to enter though. I don't get to online enter for PK's, Gargamel's, etc lottos at SDCC...

 

Seems like an east coast Designer Con. I'm down!

 

I am not a fan of lottos. I want to be impulsive.

Hey @trustpigs, can you share any details on how exactly the lottery will work? I might be able to make it for Sunday only and want to make sure I can still get in on the lotto. Also, I think there are some concerns that fans will buy Five Points tickets just to participate in the lotto. Will guests have to be on-site to collect the toy? I would assume that is the case. I think the "online lottery tickets" verbiage is causing some confusion. Either way, "early 2017" is coming to an end, just wondering when further details will surface. Thanks in advance.

 

I'm honestly not sure. I stopped working full time for Clutter over a year ago, though I still freelanced for them from time to time. That said, I haven't done anything new with them in almost six months.

Wow, that's a horribly outdated page… Like half of the "team" members listed haven't worked there in quite a while.

A full list of exhibitors and details on the lotto would be great, we're less than two months away soo hopefully more info soon.

Glad to hear that! Will you reserve any stock for Sunday only attendees? You also mentioned the online lotto, can you share any insight on how their lotto will work? Haven't seen any details yet.

 

No idea how any online lotto would work. I just requested they do not sell my stuff online.
I imagine my release will be put out at the start of the festival, and just be available until it sells out.
