I didn't want to wait on the line to get in so I showed up a few minutes before doors opened, knowing full well I might not get what I wanted...but boy am I glad I did! I still got everything I wanted and also some fun surprises!

The Berserker Mace AKA Grendel from Johan (Death Cat Toys) was my #1 want and I was really stoked to be able to get one. The Hedgehog skate, Sumo Bird, and Sumo Tooth are all toys that I've wanted but never knew how to acquire. So imagine my surprise when I find them just sitting on a table for sale. My only true impulse buy was the tardigrade. I kinda wanted one but then after @AgentRavage pointed out that the mouth looks like a butthole I simply had to have one! Everything else was on my list to purchase at the show so I'm really pleased with my haul!

Fun Fact: One of these toys is soft vinyl made in Mexico. Another is soft vinyl created in Chicago.

I've been feeling like shit lately so I only stayed at Five Points like 2 hours and wound up not seeing many people. Still was a ton of fun. See y'all next year!

I think Five Points was a really good event. It was hard to gauge how much it would grow the 2nd year, but I would say the volume of people seemed to be about the same as last year. Seems like there was not much a flipper population this year, of course there will always be some. But overall it seemed like everyone was scoring what they came for and everyone seemed overwhelmingly positive and happy about the event.

Really fun, and great to be able to talk more in depth with people, especially some of the Japanese guys, who I've never had the chance to meet before.

 

I like the anthropomorphic sumo tooth -- very rad. There should be a collection in every dental office.

I hopefully will be able to snag a full set of them when I'm in Tokyo for the Kira Kira Harajuku Sofubi Fest on the 17th. Apparently Yamomark is having a family emergency and is going do have to slow production and appearances for the foreseeable future.

 

Oh no!!! I hope whatever is wrong goes by as painlessly as possible, whatever it is. Yamomark is one of my favorite makers and I was wondering why there weren't as many shop drops... I guess this explains it

Beautiful! That Guy2 sale was a total surprise. Here's what I came out with, minus that 1000Toys figure I've posted everywhere anyway. When it really comes down to it, I wouldn't add or take away a thing. Calling that a win

 

Did anyone try the exclusive beer at the show? It was a New England-style IPA.

It was too hot during the day and I didn't want to risk feeling gross later on since I had a ton of errands to run after I left the show.

I've been enjoying NEIPAs lately though. Not too dry/hoppy and the unfiltered-ness is pretty cool looking.
