Two of them used to. I have no idea if they are still painting though.
That's great & respect to miniature painters! Looking forward to Bolt Thrower in Oakland late May.
I will be going to both days of Judge. Also LA & San Diego. I will be in a van this weekend. Hope to maybe see you guys. http://blog.super7store.com/counter-west-coast-weekend
I swung by this young republicans convention masquerading as a show at the Che and met up with Winu outside. We saw Alex and waved at him but he either didn't recognize us or didn't want to ruin his cred by acknowledging us. That or we were way too far away for him to even notice us.
I did not see you guys! I will have to admit I have the worst of vision, also I never think anybody is waving at me. Did you guys come in? I spent most of my time once in the show half walking around & discussing right wing policies. I also went to sipz, which I never liked before and still don't. I had miltons for anybody toy people that may have come by the show.
I am not in Counter but was with them and Mindset. Alex Capasso is also a very good friend of mine. Small world.
No we stood outside. We were busy discussing how the workers make all the product yet the bosses take all the profit. I didn't know you'd be there and had to confirm with Winu that it was you. I walked over by the side of the building and spoke with Spence for a little while then went home to hang out with the family. I'm with you on Sipz. That place is bland. I hope you had a good time at the Che. It is still my favorite place to see bands.
Shit I would have put you guys on our list at least as we had no one on our list. Yeah it had been 11 years since I had been to a show at Che and it seemed so much smaller since the last time, although obviously it wasnt. I love Che & I love San Diego. I hope to come back soon.
Next time you come down let me know in advance and we'll get some tacos. I read the post about you going on tour with this band after the show was already over which is why I didn't know you'd be there.
Judge!? Breakdown!? Black Train Jack!? Good god.. I grew up in that era as well. I grew up in one of the epicenters of hardcore, a little place about an hour from NYC.. There used to be a club in Norwalk, CT called The Anthrax. Considering Norwalk was only an hour from NYC and the only venue of its kind, we got a ton of acts. Have you ever seen old school photos of that venue with the giant zebra striped wall? That's The Anthrax.. There was a book published a few years back on the place: https://vimeo.com/7015632 Breakdown, Bold, War Zone, Bad Brains, Bad Religion, Gorilla Biscuits, Raw Deal, Sick Of It All, Youth of Today, Agnostic Front, Wide Awake, Underdog, Chain of Strength, Absolution, Life's Blood, Born Against, Burn, Cro Mags, Fugazi, Dag Nasty, 7 Seconds, Operation Ivy, Green Day (circa 1990) Mudhoney, Nirvana, Fishbone, Bosstones, Madball, Shades Apart, Quicksand, are a few of the bands I have seen there all before I graduated high school in 1992... Because it was such a small, close knit scene back then, I have actually chatted with quite a few of these band members as well.. I feel kinda honored to grow up right in the middle of that whole scene. I still have friends that I've known for 20+ years due to our hardcore roots.. I loved growing up in that era...
Lucky duck. I'd kill to lose my shit during Fed Up. Two best reunion shows I've seen thus far were Undertow/Unbroken, and Disembodied two days in a row.
Actually, I remember getting to see Piece By Piece and Indecision the last couple years in my state. Those were pretty life changing. Especially Indecision.
This Italian HxC documentary looks interesting. I was lucky enough to see Raw Power, Negazione and Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers back in the day.
