@MisterYuck Holy shit, Fulci absolutely rips. Tropical Sun is my favorite release of theirs, and “Palms by the Cemetery” is the heavy hitter.
Such a great album! Listened to it front to back while sculpting my monster mask head a couple years ago. In the meantime, the weather's great here and I feel like skanking around my yard,
Cold As Life remastered and FINALLY released “Born to Land Hard” on Spotify today, so this album will be on repeat all day. And maybe tomorrow. I’m jazzed ‘cause I only had this digitally on Google Music, and they terminated the service.
The first three songs by Gridiron are some of THE best and heaviest I’ve heard recently. Despize is pretty solid, but Gridiron is just hard as hell.
“It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot” will forever remain supreme to me in DMX’s discography, as well as one of the most important albums I grew up with personally. But “Exodus” really is a whole ass different beast. The guest appearances alone are incredible(Nas, Benny the Butcher, Lil’ Wayne, Alicia Keys, Westside Gunn to name a few), but X’s lyrical performance, content, rhythm and delivery are at his all time best, in my opinion. It breaks my heart he didn’t live to see the impact this album is already leaving on many, but I’m thankful he could complete something this big to leave an even bigger mark with.
