Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kid: 9/18/11 learn something new everyday, thanks for the info. either way. i still think there should be a run of these guys. i'd really like to own one and it seems a few other might as well
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kid: 9/18/11 How's the triceratops coming Dustin? I have a lot of admiration for your sculpting, and I was wondering if you have any updates?
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kid: 9/18/11 Hells yes Dustin! seeing the bop in person was awesome! so much detail. the CK is one of the best iv seen yet. Mad props man!
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kid: 9/18/11 Unfortunately, there's been no real progress on the triceratops. Between "normal" life stuff, work, and other projects it's been placed on the back burner. I haven't posted anything in a while so here's a little update on what's been happening: Painted some 40K minis, trying to get better at doing washes, drybrushing, little details: Playing Skyrim. Here's my guy, Hambone: Girlfriend got me a pretty outrageous addition to my Mario collection for Xmas: Accidentally sliced my hand doing the dishes. A pint glass shattered with my hand in it while I was scrubbing it: Got stitches: Put together this goofy little eggplane VF-1A kit from Hasegawa: Been working on a run of these guys, too: Also, to the people waiting on me for customs, thanks for bearing with me and being patient. I just kinda needed a little time to work on stuff for myself. Looking forward to an awesome 2012. Time to get back to work.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Stuff: 1/10/12 Youch at that cut, but now you can better understand the pain of the Cadaver Kid I got Skyrim too, but can't really get into it, I don't like the melee combat. It doesn't seem like your enemy makes any kind of reaction when you hit, you're just swinging and they're still swinging and their life is draining.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Stuff: 1/10/12 Yeah, it sucks when that happens. At this point, I can one-hit most enemies so it doesn't bug me too much anymore.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Stuff: 1/10/12 that pint glass thing has actually happened to me before it sucks man... feel your pain
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Stuff: 1/10/12 You want to see a peach? Now that's a peach! That pint glass did some damage! It's always a bummer when we damage our permanent tools.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Burgerbuns: 1/22/12 Almost finished with this guy for a very patient board member. Just waiting for it to stop being so wet out so I can apply the clearcoat.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kids: 1/31/12 Finally finished these dudes. Seriously underestimated how long it would take me to do all the handwork...so many staples. No release details yet. Still gotta get everything sorted.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kids: 1/31/12 Awesome work Dustin. These guys The dry brush texture on the CK is perfect.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kids: 1/31/12 Love those Cadaver Kids. Will have to watch for the release.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kids: 1/31/12 Thanks, guys! More group pics: Release details still coming together. Probably won't be for about a week or so.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kids: 1/31/12 Stunning work on these CKs Dustin. I am completely in love with the colour scheme, and you're paint has really captured Joe's sculpt in phenomenal detail. I'll have my fingers crossed to be able to hold of these in my grimey hands some day.
Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Cadaver Kids: 1/31/12 Thanks, dude. For me, this sculpt perfectly walks the line between cute and gross. I tried to play to that with my colors. I was going for a pale, lifeless flesh and a kind of diseased/rotten green hoping that they would work well together as well as slam against the big eyes and goofy smile. Glad you like it.
