No, but it made me remember this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDTtoTUvTC8 It's a Truls Mork (cellist) album with Les Violons du Roy - a amazing little chamber orchestra based in Quebec. The album as 3 Concerto for Cello composed by one of JS Bach's sons. http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/alb ... _id=489258 We should start a classical music thread
Thank you nefasth! It's a heavenly recording--just flooded the office with the sample clips. I'll be placing an order for the CD. Thanks again! ...and yes, we should start a classical thread. Skullbrainers have good taste, and I bet a lot of us do listen to classical.
Art "I'M ABOUT TO BE BANNED" 7" by Best Coast - "The Sun Was High (And So Was I) Well thats a great censor for f*g
Slipstar- I was going to say maybe it was the Reggie version before I saw your edited post. I remember seeing them on Halloween a few years ago and they played Raining Blood as an encore, with these crazy monk suits on with fake blood everywhere and decapitated a small child sized doll at the end. They always put on a fun show.
it was easter so today i listened to christian death and samhain. i felt that was the best way to celebrate.
not sure if any of you guys listen to odd future as well. but i recieved my pre-order of tyler, the creator's goblin in the mail today, and am very satisfied
How is that album? I've heard 2 tracks from it so far, and they were good, but it doesn't get me too pumped up about the rest of the album...
Last night was the last day of Maryland Deathfest. The whole fest was INSANE! There were so many amazing bands. The highlights were definitely Tragedy on Thursday, Exhumed, Marduk, and Neurosis on Friday, Doom, Acid Witch, Hooded Menace, and Inquisition on Saturday, and Nuclear Assault and Ghost yesterday! Ghost was honestly one of the coolest things I think I've ever seen. Probably in the top 10 best live acts I got to see ever. Was anyone else from the board there by any chance?
Sweden's best kept secret: The/Vhe/Theu/Trés Nooners It's quite hard to describe their music, but maybe if you put Sonic Youth, Black Sabbath, Swervedriver and The Beach Boys in a blender and press play. "The Dator Years" album was released in 1997. Here's a video for the song "Theme from Loveboat": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArpRiUXC-EQ
Yes! Car wash hair! It's been such a long time since I listened to that song. Thanks for reminding me, toothaction. Your post made me pick up my old Mercury Rev records. It also made me pick up and listen to this mighty fine ol' tune by David Baker's Shady: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe1x-oApWt4 Also, that Scott Walker album is amazing. And here's how to connect the dots between toys and Mercury Rev:
After a while spent listening some Cutty Ranks and Burro Banton I'm back to the Japanese folk scene, in particular Maher Shalal Hash Baz: Love it since day one.
