Awesome, I haven't heard Mindflayer in ages Thanks for bringing this back BTW forgot to mention, my avatar is a Boredoms cover from Onanie Bomb Meets The Sex Pistols. I still remember the first time I saw the Boredoms, mindblown! Truely one of the most impactful moments from my teenage years.... this was the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_qtrMIuImI and then I heard this, fucking awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vpfo7x0bmbE
Pretty much anything Neil Campbell or Matthew Bower has a hand in I'm in for - Vibracathedral Orchestra, Total, Sunroof!, Skullflower, Smell & Quim, Prick Decay, etc etc etc.
Speaking of which has anyone recently seen Acid Mothers Temple and The Melting Paraiso UFO? They've been touring around the states for quite a while, with Tabata Mitsuru (from Zeni Geva) and I'm hoping they'll eventually come to Europe. They're playing St. Antonio TX tonight and Austin tomorrow just in case someone is interested.
Dude! I saw Acid Mothers Temple about 6 years ago! It was my FIRST "concert/live show" I have ever been too. Sad, and strange, but true. And I was not expecting to have my ears melted afterward. It was in a little bar in Denton (Hailey's?) I didn't wear ear plugs, and my ears rang for three days straight. I was freaking out, but then it went away. Crazy show. They blew out 3 amps, and it ended with a barrage of static noise and hanging his guitar on the ceiling, feedback blasting. Good times.
Hehe, ear plugs are essential! I had ear plugs recently with Merzbow, I could've never taken that amount of volume without, the days I could do a noise performance without ear plugs have long gone, it was fucking insane I love AMT, have seen them a few times live and always had a great time. First time I saw them Cotton Casino was part of the formation (if I remember well a line up of around 13 ot 14 musicians) and they had some of their cats on stage with them They also toured, quite a few years ago, across Europe as the Japanese New Music Festival: essentially different combinations of the same line up of musicians in various formations! I think it was something like four musicians including Kawabata Makoto and Yoshida Tatsuya (from the Ruins, what another awesome band!) combined into Akaten, AMT SWR, Ruins Alone (essentially Tatsuya solo), Zubi Zuva X (a vocal act with Makoto and Tatsuya) and Makoto solo.
Oh yeah man, after that concert, I made sure I brought earplugs to everything there after. Especially when I went to see Boris. Heavy Rocks!
For noise with a beat, I've been rocking Shitmat's "Full of Shit" in my truck for like, a month now. There's probably a download of it floating around somewhere. 99 tracks, the file is almost a gig. Funny, ridiculous, aggressive, abrasive, driving "music". It's got a dubstep/house flavor to it, but my dj friend plays it to clear everyone out at the end of the night.
Dude, just downloaded this Shitmat EP. Holy cow! It's like Girl Talk being played out of a broken stereo from a dumpster! I LOVE IT! Thanks!
Re: Shitmat, if I remember well I once heard a Rolf Harris tribute album (or tape) that you'll probably find hilarious if you grew up with Mr. Harris... Great stuff Edit: here's a track - not a lot of them on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L778WYTXMas Edit2: and talking about breakcore how about some classic bong ra? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X34Lgmz8PI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_857Y357 ... re=related
I want to see I'm about half way through this album, and my brain is starting to leak out of my ears. Good, brutal stuff. Hurts, but puts smirk on my face.
Oh ya.. that is the one with Mat Brinkman in it! Speaking of Load records: Neon Hunk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yQkW9vflkE Sightings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrN_hwuFrIs
oh ya.. I used to have that CD at one point in time. Reminds me there was this label I used to have stuff from that put out a lot of stuff like 2nd gen... I can't remember what they were called. everything came out in these grey high quality digi packs with black 1 color print images on them. I'll have to see if I can remember.
If interested I think you can still find the one and only album by 2nd Gen, if I'm not mistaken he was on Mute (at least in Europe). I still have my copy back from when it was released, it's a great record. Another track from the same album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjDJsDTxOjU
Why didn't anybody mention Prurient or Carlos Giffoni? Those artists are truly amazing. If I think noise, those two names are the first to pop up. They've a record together, "Heavy Rain Returns" That's the record that turned me into Noise. I loved it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZorWBMB1Tk (Prurient) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p37ZbsmAxec (Carlos Giffoni)
yes I was just about to say 3 pages in & why come no mention of Skullflower in a noise thread?! Listen to Skullflower!
Skullflower! Yes, I second that! What about Birchville Cat Motel? Gunpowder Temple of Heaven is really something.
