I've been listening to a ton of itallo-horror inspired stuff lately - mainly Zombi and Magic Sword. With a little Burzum thrown in!

Baseball and punk rock fit hand and hand. I also urge all of you to check this band out as well. PUIG DESTROYERRRRRRRR. So fucking good.
^ Flipping whoa. Interesting marriage, for sure. Context: Spoiler Officially licensed from Irwin Chusid of the SUN RA estate, Cold Spring’s Justin Mitchell negotiated rare and unreleased tracks from the SUN RA archive to be remixed and treated by Masami Akita. The tracks incorporate the jazz power of SUN RA, carried into brutal excess by the legendary Japanese artist, MERZBOW. This release is available in two distinct editions: 180gm black vinyl, with a limited 200 only for Cold Spring mailorder on yellow vinyl (sold out), both with download code – and a matt laminated digipak CD. Please note that both formats have completely different music! Free release stickers when purchased directly from Cold Spring! "The constant and destructive waves of noise make this decisively a Merzbow record, but its cosmic mood and rhythms prove that Sun Ra lives in its DNA... Many of the strengths Akita has developed over roughly four decades of noise devotion are put to use here. He creates relentlessly forward-moving music with so much going on that it feels three-dimensional... You could call Strange City a Merzbow victory, but it couldn’t have happened without Sun Ra on his team." (Pitchfork) "Recorded music is able to generate a fistful of dreams and this is one of them... Instead of being a noise release using the name of Sun Ra as smoke and mirrors, it tries to fuse the two language and it's a reminder about some jazz purists called free jazz as noise". (4/5, Chain D.L.K.) "by balancing out [Merzbow's] chaos with Sun Ra’s sense of exploratory wonder, the songs possess much of Sun Ra’s original intention and spirit... Over the course of each piece Merzbow tries to ensure that the original piece remains in awe of its incredible journey and masterful blend of styles." (The Beach Sloth)
Bound to happen I guess Not too sure if people felt that he spoilt the Sun Ra tracks beyond recognition. Pretty nicely done though. Personal best collab ever was with Boris on Heavy Rocks

Oh sweet! I think Sunny would have appreciated the effort, even if he was not totally into the results. Hal Russell's Chemical Feast Manas Music that is literally next to my bed: Nurse With Wound Live Southern Thunder Arlen Goodfox's Song Anything Box Small
^ damn right. One thing about Masami though is he releases too much stuff you just can't keep up ^ Nurse With Wound! Nice!
A definite step in the right direction for these guys. Their last album was pretty bad. Always a good show though.
Masami Akita continues his genius, and always has been genius. @nefasth - I love you nefasth... BUT, QRBP sound like the perfect band for a hipster circle jerk. Along with every other band trying to be neo-folky, stooping to the base level of rolled up jeans, girls with under-arm hair, greased mustache's and ridiculous gluten allergies. Ick
Heavily out of my normal spectrum of music, but I love her voice, and her lyrics are just somethin' else. Very calm, but somehow equally disturbing.
If anyone's interested in electronic music. Tape label that a bunch of buddies and I just started. If you're into Raster-Noton, Autechre, BOC and AFX. Heavy drones, beats and glitch, no less. http://oldhousecult.bandcamp.com/album/xblfrm http://oldhousecult.bandcamp.com/album/reuleaux-17
