By far the best show on television right now.

Not even the writing of bigger networks gets as good as this. Its doing what the early Simpsons did and with the same level of social criticism. It took me a year to get on board with it, bc I thought praise coming from anyone that enjoyed family guy wasnt worth my time. lol.

S03E07 has got to get some writing awards, it is just a masterpiece of pacing, directing and animation.

While not exactly technically associated with Rick and Morty they are actually bringing back Szechuan Sauce for one day only at select McDonalds locations this Saturday. They are doing some odd promotion with a bunch of new sauces and limited edition posters for each sauce or some such nonsense.

"On Oct 7, together with the collectible sauce-themed posters, we’re also giving away a one-time only, limited-edition, run of Szechuan Sauce in select restaurants. And when we say limited, we mean really, really limited! Click below to find out which restaurants will be giving away* the posters, and the select few of those that will also have the Szechuan Sauce on Oct 7."

Good lord. Drove to the closest participating McDonald's, Camden 25-30 minutes away, and it was INSANE.

I'm late to the party and just watched series 1 episode 1 . . . Is that representative or does it get better?

I gotta be missing something. I just wanted my half-hour back!

Takes about 4 episodes to character build. I wasn't to excited with the first couple episodes but halfway through the season I was in sciene fiction heaven. At first it feels way to random but it really is about people and how they grow(good or bad)over time.

I can certainly see the show not being for everyone necessarily, so I wouldn't torture yourself overmuch if you really find it a grueling slog (I feel much the same about the offerings of McFarlane and company). But I would advise some degree of patience for those who are interested in sci-fi/nerddom, and have a pretty general cynical outlook, if appreciation, of life. It does take some time to get accustomed to the characters, and certainly I can understand how Rick can be interpreted as highly off-putting in the first couple episodes, but once you do understand the background and characters more, you really get pulled in. I would liken it to Curb, seems you are likely to other love it or loathe it, depending on your take on the characters; I, personally, find it absolutely hilarious, and can still break out laughing randomly thinking on jokes I heard in the show last week. :) It can be dark, intellectual, soft, and pure gross-out, or all-in-one, it really depends.

In short, it's not to everyone's tastes, nor would the makers ever aspire to be (if you know their other projects). While 'mainstream' I think it appeals highly but to a niche audience.

The characters didn't grab me straight away, but the madcap hijinks kept me watching long enough for them to grow on me. It only took a few episodes to become my favourite animation show of recent years. The amount of ideas and creativity in every episode are staggering.

The most important character is Rick. If you don't warm to him fairly quickly, you're probably not going to dig it . . .

A mate of mine (who has very similar taste to me) didn't really like it and he watched half the first season. He seemed unimpressed overall . . .

Mr. Poopy Butthole may be a close second, but the ABSOLUTELY MOST IMPORTANT ONE clearly is N**b N**b.
