An incredibly generous board member graciously brought to my attention, another Sofvi Life Hedorah. What makes this even more special to me, on top of gesture, is that the header literally reads "Sample Hedra". To have a sample paint is AMAZING. I didn't leave it in the bag, of course. No way I could. The paint in the face is a bit off/different, and the vinyl seems slightly lighter than others I've seen in photos. This one also smelled differently than my red version that also came to me bagged and headered. In any event, incredibly happy to add one more from the wants list.
What Abe meant to say was... No it was from a lobby card to the german release of godzilla vs the smog monster. they made the poster before they saw the movie i think.
@toothaction That's actually kind of bad ass! So this was essentially misconception art, rather than original concept? I love this design and take on Hedorah! Reminds me of my cat, Dahlia!
HA yeah what the fuck is up with the reply? I haven't posted regularly since the hypebeasts came and bro'd everything to death.
Picked this up at my local comic shop today. Its kinda a weird bug crab monster with what looks like a vagina mouth lol. Took 2 more pictures on my lunch break that are a lot more clear since I was going to work at the time from the comic shop.
Who are all these wealthy MogeGoji/DesuGoji collectors? Do those mid-90's Godzilla films have a special reverence, or is it more something about the Marmit creations specifically that drives such high prices?
The prices were originally driving high on mainly the Dept-H releases, which eventually is spilling over on to other Marmit releases. But mainly only the Dept-H, Artist Market, and recent lotto for these events are reaching past 1K. I am seeing some past releases from Super Fest, Wonder Fest, other events, and even standard releases hitting more than they would normally command in the past depending on character and sculpt.
Ok, I love the Christmas DesuGoji. Thanks, Anthony, great info as always. Are some of the big ones one-offs or very small runs? I was also seeing some of the Marmit exclusives from the recent G-Fest selling for huge amounts on the aftermarket: ...because Marmit rules?
The big sellers are from Dept-H and Artist Market. They are usually extremely very small micro-runs compare to releases for Super Fest and Wonder Fest. The recent 2018 G-Fest exclusive retail prices were $180 for the Biollante Rose and $200 for the Burning Godzilla.
Stupid as fuck, if you ask me. Don't get me wrong--I heart Marmits as much as the next jerk...and I believe people should buy whatever the fuck makes them happy. But when you consider how many vintage Bullmarks one can buy with that kinda loot, one should perhaps also consider swallowing a bullet.
