    Buy, activate, and properly install an SSL certificate. It's a little more complicated than that though.

    The certificate is usually about $50 a year, so not too crazy. The challenge is getting someone technical to install it and ensure that it's actually working throughout the whole site, which might take some manual labor. It's up to the admins really. We don't necessarily need an SSL cert since sensitive info isn't shared here. It could break a lot of embedded photos too.

    for the record you can get an SSL cert for free via Let's Encrypt (not shady, sponsored by the Internet Security Research Group). Actually installing the thing would be trickier. I can see a thread on the Xenforo forums with a guide, though.
